{"id":12058,"date":"2016-06-03T11:14:24","date_gmt":"2016-06-03T11:14:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/wl\/stniniansps\/?p=12058"},"modified":"2016-06-03T11:14:24","modified_gmt":"2016-06-03T11:14:24","slug":"primary-56-news-25","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/wl\/stniniansps\/2016\/06\/03\/primary-56-news-25\/","title":{"rendered":"Primary 5\/6 News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This week in Primary 5\/6, we did Jammin\u2019 Fitness with Andy and learned Capoeira (Brazilian martial art) and how to think positively under pressure.\u00a0 On Tuesday, \u00a0Primary 6 attended a Cross country running competition at James Young High School.\u00a0 Jack won the boys\u2019 race, which means that St Ninian\u2019s have been invited to attend the Primary 7 cross county school competition later in the year.\u00a0 Well done, Jack!<\/p>\n<p>On Wednesday, our visiting teacher Miss McDonald led a lesson on Health and Wellbeing.\u00a0 We learned about the nutritional values of our food as well as how to determine which snacks are better for us.\u00a0 On Thursday, Miss McDonald taught us science and we found out how much salt, fat and sugar are in different foods.\u00a0 Did you know that 7-10 year olds should only have 24g of sugar per day and that a small packet of Haribo sweets contains around 63g of sugar \u2013 scary!<\/p>\n<p>To end our week, we attended an assembly about keeping ourselves safe in lots of different situations, like riding our bikes and playing on-line.
