Primary 4 – Snow way your not doing any work today!

Good morning primary 4. I hope you are enjoying the wonderful snow and an unexpected day off school. Here are some activities to keep you busy (if you want to).

Maths

Keep on practising your time tables. Here are lists of websites you can use to help you practice.

Build a snowman and measure its height in cm. Send a picture of your snowman on class dojo.

Throw a snowball and count how many large steps is takes to reach your snowball. Tomorrow we will work out the average difference thrown and put into a bar graph.

World Book Day

Create your own character for our class novel Romans on the Rampage. Give your character a name, age and describe their personality.

Literacy/Topic

  1. Last week we were learning all about the Roman Army, if you can choose 4 items from the Roman uniform. Use your research skills to find out the proper name and the proper use of each item.
  2. Read what the Romans liked to do in their spare time. Use the information you have read to answer questions. You can type your answers onto the school blog or you can write down your answers and bring them into school.

Primary 4 News

This week we have been exploring our place value and learning about numbers to 10000. It has been challenging but we are enjoying learning more about numbers.

PE was great fun! We have been developing our hand ball techniques to ensure we work better as a team. This made our games more exciting. This really helped us to realise the importance of team work. Not only in sport but in all areas in our life.

Our dojo competition continues and this week Teegan has one the most points and has taken pride of place on our classroom door. Well done Teegan! Who will it be next week?

Have a lovely weekend?

Primary 3/4 News

This week we have been very busy completing all of our assessments.

We worked very hard during our writing assessment. It was very important for us to remember that we have to include all of our connectives, punctuation, openers and WOW words to make sure that our writing was very interesting.

“We wrote a letter to Usain Bolt” said Rachel

We asked him some really fantastic questions. Here are a few examples:

“What has been the biggest track that you have run on? said Evie

“Who inspired you to become the fastest runner in the world?” said Mark

“How much training did it take for you to become the fastest runner in the world?” said Adrin

“What kind of fruit and vegetables do you eat?” said Haseeb

“What are your likes and dislikes?” said Ailie

We hope he does very well in the 2016 Rio Olympics.

As a class we decided to spend our bake sale money on getting some new goldentime toys as our old toys were very OLD. So today we received all of our new goldentime toys and we can’t wait to play with them.

We hope you have a lovely weekend!
