Good morning everyone,
It is self-assessment Friday. Read on for some answers/suggestion for the work set this week.
Once you have checked over your work then give yourself a huge pat on the back for all the hard work you have done this week!
Literacy
Did you spot these mistakes, the computer has helped us out and underlined some of them (but be careful the computer thinks neighbour is spelled wrong and it isn’t and there are two words which have tricked the computer!)
Mistake | Correction |
noo | new |
Thay | They |
sai | say |
finde | find |
bye | by |
pathe | path |
sum | some |
sed | said |
two | too |
I have made my own acrostic poem, can you see what word I have used?
Sunny days are the best,
Under the umbrella for shade gives me a rest,
Normally I wear jumpers I say,
Shorts and T-shirts I wear today,
Hot hot hot, where’s the paddling pool!
Inside the house is lovely and cool,
Nice for a break out of the sun,
Eventually it will rain so in the sun I’ll have some fun!
Numeracy
Did you spot these mistakes?
7 + 8 = 15 2 x 4 = 8 14 2 = 7 16 – 2 = 14
17 – 6 = 11

Have a lovely weekend,
Mrs Currie
Happy Friday,
I hope you have enjoyed your learning week.
Literacy
Did you manage to sort out the ‘sh’ and ‘ch’ pictures below. I have sorted them by the sounds I hear in the right place. I have also had a go at spelling the words too. Can you check if my spelling is correct?
Did you enjoy listening to the Gruffalo in Scots? Did you listen to the Glasgow Gruffalo too? I have completed the meaning of the Scots words for you below. Did you guess them correctly?
Muckle – big
Tod – fox
Hoolit – owl
Scran – food
Neb – nose
Keek – look
Stapped – stopped
Feart – frightened/scared
Numeracy
We were working on numbers before and after this week. Let’s use the number line below to focus on numbers before and after. The star is number 14, the number that comes before is 13 and the number that comes after is 15. I have used arrows to help remind me of before and after.
I have put a star beside 2 numbers on the number line below. Can you find out what number comes before and after these numbers?
Health and Wellbeing
I completed a Venn diagram for some healthy and unhealthy foods. I decided to use the food from ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’ story. What do you think is the healthy part and the unhealthy part? Where would you put the cherry pie or the plum?
We would like you to think about your learning this week and talk about what you would put in the boxes in the worksheet below. You might want to print this worksheet or draw something similar in your jotter, if you wish to do this you can either draw pictures in the boxes or write a sentence.
Have a lovely weekend,
Mrs Currie

This activity is best done outside with enough space. Get someone to read these instructions out for you, work out what shape you make when you follw them.
Literacy
This week we have been embracing the Scots language. In school we were also learning some Spanish. Here is a simple Spanish song link which will help us learn the basic vocabulary of the colours.

How did you get on with your listening talking activity this week?
Did you manage to draw along with Miss Lydon using the Sway yesterday? If you didn’t get a chance you can always scroll down to yesterday’s blog and try it today.
Here’s a little challenge for you, using just these letters how many words can you make? You do not need to use every letter every time.
