Welcome back after a few days off!
I hope you have all had a lovely Bank Holiday weekend at home with your families. I enjoyed going for walks and doing some planting in my garden. I even met some St Ninian’s families whilst I was out walking, it was so good to chat and hear how you were getting on.
Last week our teachers were contacting families via phonecall and they were all so pleased to get this opportunity for a quick chat and update on how you were all getting on. If they couldn’t get you they left a message or we sent a groupcall just to check in and to offer our support. Please contact myself or Mrs Smith if there is anything we can support you with via email or at St Ninian’s on a Monday when we are working in the HUB school.
This is a short week of learning for you and your teachers will post your learning grids online. Last week I sent out lots of virtual Golden Tickets and I am looking forward to seeing who the teachers will nominate this week.

West Lothian are releasing challenges every Monday named ‘INspired’, these are challenges designed to challenge your skills, knowledge and understanding. It would be great if some of our children and families could give these a go. Good afternoon St Ninian’s Primary School! I hope everyone is doing well and keeping active by exercising!
Today is National Superhero Day! Here are some things I’d like you to think about;
Who is your favourite super hero and what makes them so great? Mine has to be spider man! I love the way he moves from building to building!
Can you think of what super power you would love to have and why? Mine would definitely be super speed, I think that would help me a lot when I am playing rugby!
Finally, the most important one, what super power do you already have? It is important just now for everyone to stay positive and I would like every single one of you to celebrate yourselves! Are you super smart? Are you super kind or caring? Are you super funny? Have a think and if you’re stuck, ask someone around you!

Today many of our St Ninian’s staff team will be working in the HUB across the day helping look after the children of key workers. It seems strange not having you all there with us!!
Your teachers have planned another exciting week of learning for you and it has been great hearing about all your successes via the blog, twitter and TEAMS. Last week we sent out 4 virtual Golden Tickets – this week it could be you!
Remember that we are serving take away lunches between 12-1.30pm for our FSM and P1-P3 families. It would be lovely to see some new faces!!

Yesterday was the start of a new term of learning and adventures. Your teachers have been busy planning and preparing some learning activities for you to work on this week. Remember to do just what you can when you can. If you are unsure of anything just drop your teacher an email or send us a message via the class blog pages, we are all here to help you.
It looks like the sun is going to be shining brightly today so please take time to get outside if you can for some fun in the sun!

Good morning everyone,
It felt strange waking up this morning on this last day of term, we should have all been having family tea and toast together at school before our Stay, Play and Learn Outdoors morning. It would be great if families could still take part in this today and spend a little time in their gardens or perhaps go for a short walk together.

Remember it’s also Funky Friday, so get the music on and get dancing!
Today would also have been our last Hot Chocolate Friday of the term so today we nominate………ALL OF YOU!!! Join us at 11.15am for a hot chocolate in recognition of all your hard work these last few weeks at home.
As we approach Holy Week let’s also take time to prepare ourselves for Easter. The Archdiocese of Edinburgh have some useful guides and activities for families to do:

All that’s left to say is have a restful, relaxing family break for the next 2 weeks and enjoy Easter when it comes. The teachers will be logging off today for their Easter break too and will be back online on Monday 20th April.

Good morning,
Hope you all had a good night’s sleep and feel ready for the day ahead! Mrs Docherty has been posting some really helpful information about the importance of sleep for our wellbeing via the blog.
It has been lovely seeing some of our families at the HUB on a Monday and then talking to pupils via the blog or TEAMS.
The theme we have been working on in school for Building Resilience is ‘Talk things over’ and never has there been a greater time to do this! Mrs Smith and I have been calling parents to check in for a chat and we will continue to do this today and tomorrow. We are also available via email each day for any questions or concerns.

Good morning everyone,
Can you believe that we are now into the month of April, hopefully Spring has arrived and we will all be able to get out into our gardens more.
Tradition states that on the 1st April we should play pranks on one another and be a bit silly, we think that we should honour that tradition today and all make a pledge to have fun with our families with plenty of laughter.
We have also been set a challenge from our parish which encourages creativity and problem solving, 2 key skills. We have also posted this on our school Twitter page @StNinianPS.

Good morning everyone,
It was lovely to work with our staff team in the HUB yesterday supporting children of key workers. All the staff commented on how proud they were of all the efforts and work you have been completing at home. We are all missing your smiles and laughter, we hope you appreciated yesterday’s virtual hug on our Twitter page.
Today we are posting some ideas for Messy Play at home, a favourite for the children but often a headache for parents!! Creativity is a key skill we encourage in learners so our challenge to you all is to have a go at one of the messy play tasks together as a family.

Hope you all had a nice, relaxing weekend with your family and managed to get out in the sunshine for a little while.
Today your teachers will be posting new activities for you to work on at home, please remember to take your time with these and don’t worry if you don’t manage to complete everything. If you need any help or support with tasks please get in touch with your teacher via the blog or TEAMs.
Many of the St Ninian’s staff team will be working at the St Ninian’s HUB today so we may not be as quick to respond but we will do our best.
At 11am today we are asking all of our families to log onto www.youtube.com/fischymusic for an online assembly which will lift your spirits. We use these songs at assembly and in our classrooms so the pupils will help you out at home! We will also be logging in at the HUB today.
