A pirate’s life for me homework task.

Next week the children in both P1 classes are being asked to spend an evening in role as a pirate. We have been learning about what a pirate does to keep them busy or entertained. Ask your child about what they have learned. We’d love it if you could post a description of how you spent the evening for us all to read in class.

Here are some ideas:

Pirate dances

Playing cards.

Reading or making up pirate stories.

Making things out of wood.

Making pirate food.

Enjoy me hearties and remember to leave us a comment below!!

  1. The boys decided to become pirates this evening. They built their own pirate shipped called ‘The Seven Seas Ship’. They captured a bad pirate and made him walk the plank, rescued their treasure and ate it. They celebrated by singing and dancing to pirate songs.
They are definitely getting into this topic ha ha!

    1. Well done boys this is fantastic homework! I will put your photographs on the blog too for everyone to see. You have both earned a dojo point!

  2. Angelina brought in some pirate food that she made at home – she used apples, bananas and potatoes and drew pirate faces on them. Well done Angelina, you have earned a dojo point!

  3. Matthew read adventure stories about pirates and treasure maps. Then he acted out walking the plank and climbing the rigging, sang songs and played music. This topic has captured the imagination of young and old. 😃

  4. Pirate Chloe has hidden some treasure and is making a map of its location. She’ll bring the map & the treasure in on Friday to show the class.

  5. Maeve’s Daddy found a hidden treasure map in an old chest in the attic. Pirate Maeve was very excited to find the map and set off with her sister to find the treasure. They eventually found it – a treasure chest full of gold coins under a pile of bananas – oh arrrgh!

  6. Julia was very busy as a pirate this week. She was dancing to the pirate songs with her little pirate brother. She made a story with pirate Daddy and she is still trying to make a wee treasure chest.

  7. Leo is thoroughly enjoying this topic. He spent last night with Dad telling pirate stories and putting on their best pirate accents – ‘Shiver me timbers’! They played cards like the Pirates did. Dad was really good at it but Leo was better! 😉
