Primary 6 Weekly News

We have had another busy week in P6. Here are some of our highlights:

ICT/Topics

We worked together in groups to use ICT to show our understanding of different topics. We got to choose our groups, whether it was a Sway, Powerpoint or I-movie as well as the learning we wanted to share. It was really fun and enjoyable as we got to use lots of skills.

JAMES YOUNG HIGH SCHOOL

Another highlight was when the P6 girls went to the Active Day for Girls at James Young High School. There was a variety of activities to do – Hip Hop Moves, Handball, Creative Dance, Volleyball /Basketball and Dodge Ball. The purpose of the day was to encourage girls to do more sport.

We still love Free Writing Friday!

HOUSE CAPTAINS’ ASSEMBLY

At our House Captains’ Assembly this morning we were reminded of the importance of making healthy choices in what we eat.

WRITING

We worked hard during our Writing Assessment as well. It was an opportunity to show how much we have learned about the Narrative genre. It was good to be thinking carefully about the orientation then the complication and finally the resolution.

MATHS

Maths Week has been fantastic and we have lots of photos in our class Talking Book!

*Outdoors, we used the compass points to collaboratively create a route for another group to find a puzzle envelope. It was lots of fun using the directions created by each group. We used lots of problem solving to find the solutions to the puzzles.

PE – We got into groups. We had to listen carefully to the angles being given. We then made the angles together such as obtuse, acute, reflex and right angles.

Games – We also played a new game called the Shannon Switching Game which was a bit like Noughts and Crosses. It was fun trying to beat our partners.

Have a great weekend!
