P4/5 Weekly News

A busy week in P4/5 this week. Here are some of our highlights;

Harley “In writing this week, we wrote a letter to Mrs Burchill (Chair of the Parent council) to ask for some help to protect endangered animals. We shared what we have learned so far in our topic. We talked about global warming, climate change, poachers and habitats being destroyed.”

Abi “Some of the children made camouflage art of animals. We had to make a design on the background and colour it in in a variety of colours. We had to colour the animal in the same colours.”

Lewis “We made the most of the sunshine this week and took our reading books out to the garden. We enjoyed reading in the sun.”

Mirren “This week the Sacramental children went to the Lanthorn to rehearse for their Confirmation. I am excited about Sunday to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation.”

Lukasz “In Maths we have been working on time. We had to change analogue times to digital times using am and pm. I love learning about time. I can use what I have learned at home to tell the time.”

Finlay “In PE this week we were learning how to jump the hurdles. We did relay races using the hurdles.”

Louise “We also played capture the flag with some of the P4 children. We had to work together as a team to win.”

Harley “P4 Sacramental children had a Confirmation retreat day on Tuesday. We had to write a prayer to our Saint. We learned about how the Saints died. We had a quiz about a video that we watched.”

Oskar “Some of the children went to the library. We learned how the non-fiction books are put in order. Non-fiction books are in order of their number and are organised in groups. E.g. all of the animal books are together. After the library Mrs Wassell let us have a little treat and we got to play in the park.”

Oliwia “In reading we worked on our task maps to help develop our reading skills.”

Caiden “Mrs Young was in our class for Art. We had to draw a portrait of ourselves. We had to a patterned background.”

Looking forward to seeing you all on Sunday for the Children’s Confirmation.

Have a great weekend.

Mrs W and P4/5
