This week we have enjoyed Sports Day and Transition Morning.
It was a pleasure to watch the children during Sports Day, they displayed lovely sporting manners and behaviour. Well done everyone.
For Transition morning the children were given the opportunity to visit their new classroom and meet their new teacher for next session. This is a very important part of the preparation for moving on and allows the children to put into action their resilience learning as they face changes to their routines. The children were all buzzing with excitement when they returned to class.
In class this week;
Numeracy – we have been consolidating our knowledge of missing number calculations as well as working out the answers to word problems.
Literacy – we finished all our class reading books and also looked back at our previous topic of Charlie and Lola stories. We watched a story called “I can do everything absolutely on my own”. In this story Lola thought that she did not need any help to do things but in the end she realised that there are some things (like playing on a seesaw) that you need help with. We all wrote about this story in our writing jotters and linked this learning to our Building Resilience programme of work by discussing how it’s OK to ask for help and how important our Back-up Team is.
Have a lovely weekend.
