As we prepare for returning to school this week, don’t forget to make the most of this extreme weather as this is the type of things that make memories to last a lifetime.
Get a head start –
Writing – When we return to school we will be completing a personal piece of writing all about our time off school during these snow days. We will be writing about all the different activities that you got up to (both inside and outside) and what we liked and disliked about having so much snow. You could start to think about what you will write in your story.
Spelling – also on or return we will be going over our key words again and looking to see how many you can remember how to spell without checking. you could prepare for this by using the key word lists you have at home.
Numeracy – we will revise again our knowledge of the coins we use in everyday life and complete some simple calculations with these, this will also help us look at the numbers to 100 too. Also we will be rounding up our work on division (grouping).
Topic – This week we will begin to look at modern transport with a particular focus on Space Travel. Much of our work will be about rockets, and hopefully we will get a chance to use materials to design our own rocket model.
