SHARING\u00a0 \u00a0THE\u00a0 \u00a0LEARNING<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Another busy week in P7! A special thanks to our parents and grandparents who were able to attend the Sharing the Learning event on Friday morning. It was great to see so many there and being able to work with the children on their task.<\/p>\n

\"Scottish<\/p>\n

The children have been extending their knowledge about the Scottish Parliament as part of their IDL learning and they worked collaboratively to complete a timeline showing some key events from when the Scottish Parliament was first established in 1997 up to more resent times.<\/p>\n

\"What<\/p>\n

What stuck with you?<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0 Children were asked to write three facts on post it notes listing what they have learned from the lesson and stick onto the whiteboard.\u00a0 This is a great way to explicitly display the learning that has taken place.<\/p>\n

“The Scottish Parliament building cost \u00a3414,000,000”<\/p>\n

“Donald (Dewar) was the very first, First Minister”<\/p>\n

“The first Parliament election was in 1999”.<\/p>\n

“The UNCRC Act was passed in Scotland in 2023 and became law in 2024”.<\/p>\n

“In 2015, 16 and 17 year olds could vote”.<\/p>\n

“The shape of the roof is like an upside down boat”.<\/p>\n

“The Scottish Parliament was three years late in being built”.<\/p>\n

“The first debate happened in 2004 and the Queen opened the new building that year too”.<\/p>\n
