{"id":52093,"date":"2025-08-28T13:35:04","date_gmt":"2025-08-28T13:35:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/wl\/stmaryspolbeth\/?p=52093"},"modified":"2025-08-28T13:35:04","modified_gmt":"2025-08-28T13:35:04","slug":"p4-3-rights-and-responsibilities","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/wl\/stmaryspolbeth\/2025\/08\/28\/p4-3-rights-and-responsibilities\/","title":{"rendered":"P4\/3 Rights and Responsibilities"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/withoutstress.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/R_and_R-360x175.jpg\" alt=\"Children's Rights and Responsibilities &lt; WithoutStress.com\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We have been learning about <strong>Rights and Responsibilities.<\/strong>\u00a0 Rights are\u00a0 needs or the things that we should all have.\u00a0 These are things like the right to learn by going to school, the right to a name, the right to have your say, the right to play or the right to be safe.\u00a0 Rights protect you in every day life, regardless of who you are or where you come from.\u00a0 Children&#8217;s rights help make sure they are safe, healthy, heard and can be themselves.<\/p>\n<p>We also have responsibilities.\u00a0 These are things we are expected to do, such as following rules, being kind and helpful to others.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>What are some of your responsibilities?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Each of us has different responsibilities in our lives.\u00a0 At home, you could be responsible for tidying your room or putting shopping away.\u00a0 At school, you could help your teacher or be a buddy to someone who needs help.\u00a0 In your community, you can help to protect the environment by putting rubbish in the bin.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #339966\"><strong>Can your responsibilities change?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>As we get older our responsibilities can change.\u00a0 Your parent or carer looks after you at the moment, but when you grow up you will be more responsible for yourself.\u00a0 For young children, responsibilities are simple and practical, such as putting away toys, feeding pets, or helping to set the table.<span class=\"pjBG2e\" data-cid=\"6aa9cd72-3934-404d-85b8-b21b12af761f\"><span class=\"UV3uM\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sparklebox.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/1-5981.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>A class charter is a contract that we have devised together as a class.
