We have made a great start to our new term and have come back fresh and ready to learn after the Christmas holiday.

We have completed a block of addition and are now looking at how we can subtract. We have enjoyed using lots of practical materials to help us with this, we even used sweeties. We are learning how to write number sentences and to use the correct symbols for addition and subtraction.

We have started our Scottish themed topic and are using the Hamish McHaggis books to learn about different cities and landmarks in Scotland. We studied a map of Scotland and are learning how to label these cities on the map.  We enjoy reading the stories and learning more about the main characters, Jeannie, Angus, Hamish and Rupert. We created some large pictures of the characters to add to a wall display.
