Primary 2

Primary 2 have been busy this week with lots of learning!
In maths we have moved on to subtion and Miss Stenhouse has been impressed at our ability to apply our number knowledge and strategies to subtraction stories. We are continuing to count to 100 daily and have been working on counting backwards.
John – I enjoyed the spooly subtractions.
Aine – I like using the eggs to help me.
In literacy we have been learning new blend sounds as well as sight words. We are still working hard on our writing and have been thinking about why we need to learn this.
Corra –Linn – I enjoyed doing the spelling flowers.
Michael – I want to be a scientist or engineer so I think I will need to know how to write and read bigger words.
We have enjoyed lots Halloween arts and crafts this week and had a great pary with lots of fun and games as well as dancing!
Kier – I enjoed making the pumpkin hedgehog.
Leah – I enjoued making the sugar skulls and listening to the story about them.
We have started our new topic this week, Day and Night. This week we have focused on why we have day and night. We had lots of discussions on where the sun goes at night and we loved watching videos of the world spinning.
Our Primary 7 helpers were very helpful when we were working on our electronics.
