P1B highlights:<\/p>\n
Layla \u2013 \u201cDoing highland dancing was my favourite.\u201d\u00a0 As part of our celebrations of Burns Day, the children were watching highland games on the Smartboard and also some people doing highland dancing.\u00a0 They had good fun joining in.\u00a0 Other Burns Day fun involved designing tartan umbrellas (for our \u2018u\u2019 phonic sound) and performing \u2018Ally Bally Bee\u2019 at assembly today.\u00a0 The link is as follows in case your child wants to perform it for you at home: https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=BNsqZEKkzRQ<\/a><\/p>\n Zac \u2013 \u201cI liked making our own clubs.\u201d\u00a0 This week the children have been learning what it means to feel \u2018Included\u2019.\u00a0 We listened to a story called, \u2018Strictly No Elephants!\u2019 about a child and their pet who did not feel very welcome at a club.\u00a0 We decided to make Welcome posters for our classroom door so that everyone who comes in to our room feels included.\u00a0 We also created our own made up clubs during story writing and decided the name, when and where it was going to be.\u00a0 The clubs ranged from \u2018The Mermaid Club\u2019 to \u2018The Teddy Club\u2019!<\/p>\n Paige \u2013 \u201cI liked the shapes in the woods.\u201d\u00a0 P1B have been learning to recognise and make 2D shapes this week.\u00a0 We searched for them naturally in the woods.\u00a0 We discovered there were many circles there!<\/p>\n Maeve and Mrs Devlin\u2019s Highlight \u2013 \u201cThe Assembly.\u201d\u00a0 As mentioned in this post, the children performed Ally Bally Bee at the assembly today.\u00a0 I was so proud of them!\u00a0 This was also my highlight!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Week Beginning 20.1.20 P1B highlights: Layla \u2013 \u201cDoing highland dancing was my favourite.\u201d\u00a0 As part of our celebrations of Burns Day, the children were watching highland games on the Smartboard and also some people doing highland dancing.\u00a0 They had good … Continue reading
