P1B highlights:<\/p>\n
Paige \u2013 \u201cMy favourite part was having the rabbits.\u201d\u00a0 The SSPCA delivered some mechanical rabbits to P1B and we learned how to take care of them so they are happy and healthy.<\/p>\n
Layla \u2013 \u201cI liked finding Numicon on the branches.\u201d\u00a0 The children have been learning about Even and Odd numbers.\u00a0 We met a little owl called Even and he only ate 2, 4, 6, 8 and O ending numbers.\u00a0 The song is to the tune \u2018Old MacDonald Had a Farm\u2019.\u00a0 Ask your child to sing it to you.\u00a0 We went on a number hunt around the school and wrote the numbers down in the correct column.<\/p>\n
Ishani S \u2013 \u201cI liked seeing the classroom full of leaves!\u201d\u00a0 We started our new topic, \u2018The Graffalo\u2019 this week.\u00a0 The children found the room with a carpet of leaves one morning and different footprints.\u00a0 They had lots of ideas about who the footprints belonged to!\u00a0 Some thoughts ranged from wolves to bears!\u00a0 At last we discovered the book and linked the footprints to the characters.<\/p>\n
Jude \u2013 \u201cI like making Halloween cookies.\u201d On Thursday the children rotated around the P1 and P2 classrooms and engaged in lots of fun Halloween themed learning.<\/p>\n
Mrs Devlin: The highlight of my week was today when we put the letters we have been learning together.\u00a0 We put c and a together to make ca, s and a together to make sa, m and a together to make ma and finally p and a together to make pa.\u00a0 I revealed to the children that on Monday we will meet the new sound \u2018t\u2019.\u00a0 We placed it at the end of our letters and some people read sat, mat and cat!\u00a0 It was truly magical!\u00a0 Keep an eye out in your child\u2019s diary for suggested words you can make with your sound flashcards by gluing them together.<\/p>\n
We will have a new pupil join our class next week called Emily.\u00a0 She visited our class today and listened to a story.\u00a0 We are so excited to have a new friend join P1B.<\/p>\n
