{"id":23735,"date":"2026-08-30T14:42:03","date_gmt":"2026-08-30T14:42:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/wl\/stjohnogilvieprimary\/?p=23735"},"modified":"2026-08-30T14:43:34","modified_gmt":"2026-08-30T14:43:34","slug":"p1a-week-beginning-24th-august-2026","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/wl\/stjohnogilvieprimary\/2026\/08\/30\/p1a-week-beginning-24th-august-2026\/","title":{"rendered":"P1A Week Beginning 24th August 2026"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hello families of P1A!<\/p>\n<p>I cannot believe another week has passed already!\u00a0 The children have all been superstars!\u00a0 They have been working hard on Wonderful Walking through the school and know this means walking with our hands by our side and lips closed.\u00a0 This means that not only is everyone keeping safe but also no other classes are being disturbed.<\/p>\n<p>Here are the learning highlights from the Blue table:<\/p>\n<p>Levy enjoyed the story of The 3 Little Pigs.\u00a0 This linked to our learning all about the number 3.\u00a0 The children successfully answered many comprehension questions throughout the story which impressed Mrs Brown!<\/p>\n<p>Aleigha also reported that she enjoyed our learning about the number 3.\u00a0 We discovered that if we form it the same way as the beginning of the number 2, that then just gets repeated.\u00a0 Aleigha enjoyed writing in on her friend&#8217;s back as well as on an LCD writing tablet and whiteboard.<\/p>\n<p>Joshua said that the best part of his week was listening to the story called &#8216;Bear&#8217;s Woobly Tooth&#8217;.\u00a0 This story linked to our learning about our feelings.<\/p>\n<p>Nathaniel liked when we went up to our school woodland.\u00a0 We talked about how to keep safe in the woodland and had time to explore.\u00a0 Our class will have our outdoor learning day on a Tuesday afternoon, when possible.<\/p>\n<p>Cooper enjoyed looking at the pictures of all the adults in the school again and trying to remember their names.\u00a0 We had a discussion on what is a Trusted Adult and who we would like as ours.\u00a0 The children know that they can always talk to me about their worries but if there was someone in particular they would like to share that with, their Trusted Adult, then I will arrange that for them.<\/p>\n<p>Bianka loved learning about how we are all given different gifts and talents from God and how we are all unique.\u00a0 We looked at images of fingerprints and the different shapes and lines they make.\u00a0 The children then dipped their finger in to ink and made a print in their jotter to see what lines and shapes they could see that were unique to them.<\/p>\n<p>My highlight was the beautiful singing of the song, &#8216;He&#8217;s Got the Whole World in his Hands&#8217;.\u00a0 The children have been learning how we are all part of God&#8217;s family and are therefore, brothers and sisters in Christ.\u00a0 They enjoyed pointing to the boys when they sang, &#8220;He&#8217;s got you and me brother, in His hands&#8221; and pointing to the girls when they sang, &#8220;He&#8217;s got you and me sister, in His hands.&#8221;\u00a0 There was lots of giggling and fun.<\/p>\n<p>I hope you all are having a lovely weekend.<\/p>\n<p>Mrs Brown<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hello families of P1A!
