Hello P3 families!<\/p>\n

Here are our learning highlights for this week from ‘Livingston’:<\/p>\n

Navami liked our phonics lesson about the spelling pattern, ‘tion’.\u00a0 The children were challenged with building the tallest tower with 8 sheets from the recycled paper drawer, in teams, within a given time.\u00a0 The children came up with very creative ideas; with the tallest structure measuring a whooping 182cms!\u00a0 After we measured each and created 1st-6th place, we then created some destruction<\/strong><\/span> by knocking them down!\u00a0 That was the best part, according to Navami!<\/p>\n

Maks loved Building Thinking Classrooms this week were the children worked together to find out how many scoops of ice cream Mrs Brown and her family had one hot day.<\/p>\n

Ollie said the best part of his week was our Word Boost story, ‘Myron’s Magical Cow’ and he liked learning about the vocabulary ‘nudge’ best.\u00a0 The children are excited to play Word Boost Corners on Monday morning!<\/p>\n

Elize enjoyed designing her very own Beebot mat.\u00a0 Some children are still working on their design.\u00a0 They are taking their time to make it just right; hoping theirs is chosen to be made in to a mat for the whole class to use in a lesson.\u00a0 Hopefully we will have the winning design soon!<\/p>\n

Leighton said the highlight of her week was going to our class mass today.\u00a0 The children received a lovely compliment from the priest and congregation about how enthusiastically they joined in with the prayers and singing.<\/p>\n

Oscar loved our maths lesson this week on area.\u00a0 His group decided to use magnetic tiles to find the area of a jotter.\u00a0 The children knew to use objects that were the same size.\u00a0 They discovered that the area of the jotter was 20 magnetic tiles.\u00a0 Afterwards, they learned to find the area of squares and rectangles by counting squares, for a more accurate reading.<\/p>\n

Alex and Joseph recount how bench ball was the best part of their week.\u00a0 The children are excited to learn football skills for PE for the next few weeks (linked to The World Cup).\u00a0 With so many\u00a0 children already being in a football club, Mrs Brown is going to have lots of assistant coaches to help!\u00a0 Lucky me!<\/p>\n
