Hello P3 families!<\/p>\n

I hope you received your personal invitation to our assembly on Friday 1st<\/sup> May.\u00a0 If you are unable to come, then a P6 pupil will be paired up with your child to complete the activities.\u00a0 I will take lots of photos to share on the Blog too for you to enjoy.<\/p>\n

Here are our learning highlights for this week according to the \u2018Livingston\u2019 group:<\/p>\n

Oscar loved our learning about the importance of not wasting food.\u00a0 The children poured out how much of a given food (for example, pasta) they think they eat and then compared that weight to the correct advised portion.\u00a0 We discovered that we are putting too much food on to our plate and therefore create food waste which in turn damages our ozone layer as it releases methane.\u00a0 We also discussed the importance of not using single use plastics in our lunch box.<\/p>\n

Navami and Gabriella both liked it when they had a run around outside after assembly practise and an opportunity to play with the hola hoops and skipping ropes.<\/p>\n

Leighton has continued to enjoy our class novel, White Fang.\u00a0 We hope to finish it this coming week.<\/p>\n

Eiza and Jospeh both reported that learning the 4 Times Tables has been the best part of their week.\u00a0 Eliza enjoyed writing a 4 Times Table on the table and then pressing a lego piece into playdoh that many times to show what it looks like (an array).\u00a0 Jospeh liked the warm-up Beanbag game and managed to be one of the last ones standing!<\/p>\n

Ollie loved Building Thinking Classrooms this week.\u00a0 The children were tasked with having to place different children in different bedrooms as they began to annoy one another from their usual 1-10 sequence layout in their house.\u00a0 The parents bought a new house with a different layout.\u00a0 The children worked well together to find a solution.<\/p>\n

Izhaan and Alex both said they enjoyed practising for the assembly.\u00a0 Both Miss Stonehouse and I have been so impressed with how the rehearsals are going.\u00a0 The children have come up with the choreography themselves for both songs.\u00a0 You will be in for a treat!<\/p>\n

My highlight was the zero waste lesson.\u00a0 The children got very passionate about not using single use plastics in their lunchbox in the future and from now on are going to take any waste home so they can put their waste in the correct bins that West Lothian Council provide.\u00a0 Two members of West Lothian Council came to visit P3 and P3\/2 and set up some fabulous learning experiences for the children, all about their waste.\u00a0 They have kindly agreed to let us use some of these activities for our assembly so that you too can take part with your child!<\/p>\n

Congratulations to Vikashini our Reading Champion and to Izhaan, our Hot Chocolate winner this week!<\/p>\n
