Hello P3 families!\u00a0 I cannot believe we only have 2 weeks left of school before the Christmas holidays!\u00a0 Here are this week\u2019s learning highlights from The Red Pandas:<\/p>\n

Maja enjoyed examining a descriptive piece of writing called \u2018My Grandma\u2019.\u00a0 This is our last piece of writing from the genre.\u00a0 We have planned a special piece of descriptive writing ourselves.\u00a0 Be sure to read next week\u2019s post when we reveal what it was about!<\/p>\n

Viaan has continued to like our maths lesson on addition within 100 using the upstairs, downstair chimney method.\u00a0 Next week we will progress to learning what to do if the answer to a column is greater than 9.<\/p>\n

Laaibah said the learning highlight of her week was making information posters.\u00a0 She chose to make hers about the beaver.\u00a0 The instructional drawing made a super focal point in the middle of her poster.\u00a0 Her layout serviced as an example of one that met the success criteria: name of animal included, picture of animal included, large font, spaced out facts (taken from last week\u2019s note taking exercise), a Scottish flag (to show it is a Scottish wild animal) and colourful to make it eye catching.\u00a0 Laaibah chose to do hers as part of a group.\u00a0 Super teamwork ladies!<\/p>\n

Nathan enjoyed watching Elf on Tuesday as part of a Christmas treat after the delicious Christmas lunch.\u00a0 A big thank you to all the kitchen staff for this tasty lunch!<\/p>\n

Amelia and Tyler T both report that Scottish country dancing was the best part of their week.\u00a0 The children have grown so much in confidence since we started our lessons a couple of weeks ago.\u00a0 We will be ready for when it is our party on Monday 15th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n

Alex and Dawid both agree that the outdoor learning session this week with Kids Gone Wild was thee best part of their week.\u00a0 Thankfully the weather was on our side!\u00a0 The children went to a local woodland and for a few hours, enjoyed playing!\u00a0 I witnessed a lot of creative, imaginative play.\u00a0 There was also den building with sticks, the zipline, slackline and chill time in the hammocks.\u00a0 It was a FAB experience for all!<\/p>\n

Danvith loved being the Kids Gone Wild teacher\u2019s helper!\u00a0 He helped her carry the equipment we needed and assisted her putting it up and taking it down.\u00a0 Thank you Danvith!<\/p>\n

My highlight was seeing the children work together on the zipline, supporting one another, encouraging one another, working co-operatively holding the ladder while their friend participated and then bringing the handle back up the zipline ready for the next person.\u00a0 Wonderful!<\/p>\n

Congratulations to Ollie, our hot chocolate winner this week.<\/p>\n
