Hello P3 families!\u00a0 Here are our highlights this week from The Ferrets:<\/p>\n

Eliza enjoyed House Groups this week.\u00a0 Each child joined the rest of the school and broke up in to their House Group (St Peter, St Francis or St Teresa).\u00a0 <\/strong>This time, the groups were thinking about the different ways brains work and what can support us to learn i.e. some children identified that fidget toys help them to stay focused, some liked pictures to accompany instructions etc.\u00a0 We discussed what an inclusive classroom looks like and what more could your teacher do to support you.<\/p>\n

Sophia liked our phonics lesson this week, focusing on the long i sound.<\/p>\n

Matteo said the learning he enjoyed most this week was when we finished our story writing of recounting the Viking myth of how Odin created the world.\u00a0 We talked about the Describing Bubble and had the challenge of including as many describing words as we could.\u00a0 The children did very well!<\/p>\n

Ollie and Ellie have both picked our class novel, Thorfinn the Nicest Viking.\u00a0 We heard how in the past, carrier pigeons used to carry messages from one place to another.\u00a0 The children have expressed an interest in learning more about this.<\/p>\n

Izhaan and Tyler T loved making Viking axes with our P6 helpers from Mrs Valente\u2019s class and throwing them in the woods to practise their aim.<\/p>\n

Joseph said his highlight was our nature walk where we collected moss, twigs, leaves and pebbles for the bug hotels that some of us made for taking care of God\u2019s creation.<\/p>\n

Vihaan loved it when we made our bug hotels and bird feeders.\u00a0 I was so impressed with the creativity the class showed that we invited Mrs McLaughlin to see them before they went home.\u00a0 She too was very impressed!\u00a0 A big thank you to our pupil support worker, Mrs Garvin who was a big help supporting us.<\/p>\n

My highlight matches Matteos!\u00a0 Well done everyone for your efforts in story writing this week!\u00a0 I am sure your parents are going to be impressed when they read it at our upcoming Parent Consultations.<\/p>\n

A big congratulations to Oscar for being this fortnight\u2019s Reading Champ!<\/p>\n

I hope you are all enjoying the weekend, despite the rain.<\/p>\n
