This week we have had a super week of learning.<\/p>\n
In Literacy we were learning the sound ‘c’ we know it is a yellow, short, bouncy sound.\u00a0 We were able to recall words that have the ‘c’ sound at the start of the word.\u00a0 We also practised the formation of ‘c’ and made cats and caterpillars.\u00a0 We differentiated between m and c.\u00a0 This week we looked at the common word can and we tried to write it in a sentence.<\/p>\n
In maths we looked at the numbers 6 and 7.\u00a0 We used numicon to order numbers and then show different ways to make a number – for example 6 can be made by adding 2 + 4 and 3 +3.\u00a0 We were introduced to 5\/10 frames and made different amounts remembering to fill the top line first.<\/p>\n
In Health and WellBeing we finished learning about the zones of regulation and looked at the colour yellow and the words worried and silly.\u00a0 We discussed what makes us worried and what we can do to try and not worry.\u00a0 We also made silly scribbles.<\/p>\n
For our sense of hearing we listened to noises\/sounds and we had to guess what they were.\u00a0 We listened outside and drew pictures of the wind, the leaves rustling, an aeroplane and a seagull.\u00a0 We played guess the instrument game and also made our own shakers.<\/p>\n
Everyone agreed this week our learning highlight was playing out in the Woodlands.\u00a0 We discussed risk assessment at ground, eye and high level and how to keep ourselves safe.\u00a0 We took a tour of the woodlands discussing the boundaries of where we can play.\u00a0 We got to pracitse entering and exiting the firepit safely.\u00a0 We listened for sounds and drew what we heard.\u00a0 Then we had time to choose our own learning.\u00a0 We were so excited to find a fairydoor on a tree but we didnt see any fairies.<\/p>\n
Well done to St Francis our winning house this week and congratulations to\u00a0 Amelia\u00a0 our Hot Chocolate winner this week.\u00a0 Amelia works very hard and always tries her best.<\/p>\n
