Leighton has been enjoying our learning about Viking longhouses.\u00a0 She thought the fact that they used animal horns for cups quite fascinating!<\/p>\n
Amelia has continued to like playing benchball at PE.<\/p>\n
Maja said the highlight of her week were the lessons on 2D shapes and she made a lovely picture of a house\u00a0 using these shapes.<\/p>\n
Laaibah loved our 3D shape learning.\u00a0 Our new 3D shape learning in P3 is the square-based pyramid and triangular prism.\u00a0 We explored the 2D links and how many faces, edges and vertices they have.\u00a0 So far, we have made the square-based pyramid using it’s Net.<\/p>\n
Tyler F also liked learning about 3D shapes.\u00a0 We played a game called \u2018Pass the Shape\u2019 to some music.<\/p>\n
Daniel has chosen our lesson on revising the \u2018ai\u2019 sound that is found in the middle of words as his favourite.\u00a0 Next, we will be revising the \u2018ay\u2019 sound found at the end of words.<\/p>\n
Viaan thought our lesson on question words was interesting.\u00a0 Our theme was what animal we would like and had to think of different questions to ask someone if we did not know how to look after it.\u00a0 Viaan \u00a0wanted a cat and his questions were: Who can feed a cat?\u00a0 Where can you keep it safe?\u00a0 Do you wash a cat? and Who will put it to sleep?\u00a0 He remembered to use a question mark at the end of each written question.\u00a0 Well done, Viaan!<\/p>\n
Alex loved the lesson about The 10 Commandments and was able to recall many of them the next day.<\/p>\n
Danvieth said his favourite learning was with Mrs Morrison were the children continued to listen and join in with the singing for \u2018Treasure Island\u2019.<\/p>\n
Nathan said that the teamwork games during PE was his favourite part of the week.\u00a0 The children got in to teams and it was a race to see who could pass the ball over and under in a pattern first.<\/p>\n
My highlight was our lesson on the longhouses.\u00a0 The children did their own research using nonfiction books.\u00a0 We looked at Contents pages and located the longhouses from that information.\u00a0 Mostly we looked at the pictures and there was a lot of rich discussion around what they saw.\u00a0 Laaibah spotted that some of them were a triangular prism!\u00a0 Well done, Laaibah!<\/p>\n
Congratulations to Ollie, our hot chocolate award winner this week!<\/p>\n
Unfortunately, Seesaw codes were unable to be printed this week after all (cyber attack implications) but we have our fingers crossed for next week.\u00a0 Also, reading assessments for P3 should be finished by next week also, so the hope is for reading books to be able to go home as part of homework after the September weekend.<\/p>\n
