Happy New Year to all our families, we hope you had a wonderful Christmas.\u00a0 We were so excited to welcome the children back to school on Monday, even though it was very cold and snowy we had a week of great learning.<\/p>\n

In Literacy we focused on r reading\u00a0cvc\u00a0words, finding and writing r.\u00a0 We made a rabbit craft.\u00a0 We read a story about a robin and then completed a step by step drawing of a robin.\u00a0 The drawings turned out amazing and lots of people have commented how wonderful they look.<\/p>\n

We also learned the sound \u2018v\u2019 we designed a vase and made a volcano craft.\u00a0 We learned to form v and to sound out cvc words.\u00a0 We aslo had to cut and stick a vehicle into the right order, colour it and write a sentence.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"\"\"<\/p>\n

Our new topic is ‘Robots’, we read the story Robot Rumpus and spoke about robots.\u00a0 We designed our own and then wrote about it.\u00a0 We also played a game to roll a robot.<\/p>\n

We were very excited to use iPads to learn about Beebot controls and then in groups we used the Beebots.\u00a0 We were able to show how to code a Beebot to get from one place to another using single steps.<\/p>\n

As it is a new year we looked at the months of the year and practised singing the months of the year rhyme.\u00a0 We designed our own calendar for 2025 to take home.<\/p>\n

We also looked at subtraction, talking about how the biggest number comes first, names for the subtraction sign and we used blocks to count how many to take away to find an answer.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span>In Religion we learned about the Epiphany and the kings visiting Jesus bringing him gifts.\u00a0 We drew our own gift for Jesus on a gift tag and made our own class present for Jesus.\u00a0 We also discussed new year resolutions and came up with our own resolutions for the new year.<\/span><\/p>\n
