This week, we wrote an adventure narrative about a lighthouse keeper called Chris (Class write<\/a>).\u00a0 We were inspired by this story:\u00a0 https:\/\/youtu.be\/6HfBbSUORvo\u00a0 In our story, the light broke in Chris’s lighthouse and a ship was coming.\u00a0 The villagers came up to help Chris.\u00a0 Half of them fixed the light and the other half stood outside with their lanterns.\u00a0 We made our narrative really exciting because we used lots of adjectives and exciting verbs\/adverbs to add description and detail.\u00a0 We used non-finite clauses, fronted adverbials and expanded noun phrases.\u00a0 We did a great job and next week, we are going to write our own narratives using just as much description.\u00a0 We have been set a challenge of starting to think about what we want to happen in our stories, including the setting, the characters and what could go wrong.<\/p>\n

In maths, we finished off looking at measuring using cm and mm.\u00a0 We now know how to confidently measuring using a ruler and how to convert between mm and cm.\u00a0 Mrs Brown has reminded us to do our maths homework on Sumdog each week because many of us keep forgetting!<\/p>\n

Highlights:<\/p>\n

Matteo: I enjoyed music because we used drumsticks to make rhythms.\u00a0 We had to use our jotters as a drum pad.\u00a0 Mrs Morrison said that if we ever want to use drum sticks, a mouse pad is also good for this.\u00a0 We had to remember to keep our elbows up and the stick needs to bounce up.<\/p>\n

Ishani S: I liked writing the story because it had lots of description in.<\/p>\n

Dhanvi: I liked writing the story because you liked using description and adding detail.<\/p>\n

Jude: I liked doing the drums with Mrs Morrison because my grandad had drums and I got to use them once.<\/p>\n

Aiden: I liked the writing because the story was amazing and I was very interested in the story.\u00a0 My partner and I chose Chris’s name.<\/p>\n

Layla: I liked PE because we got to play Bulldogs and the hook arm game (linking tag).<\/p>\n
