Hello P2B Families!<\/p>\n

We did not get a chance to complete our Blog today as we had so many St Patrick’s Day activities planned.\u00a0 Here are some of the learning experiences your children had this week:<\/p>\n

Maths – We have been learning to identify all coins and notes.\u00a0 We examined the images on coins and paid attention to their shape, colour and numerals.\u00a0 We completed coin rubbings using the correct colours and made price tags up to play ‘Shop’ with a friend.\u00a0 We are learning about the different combination of coins we can pay for items.\u00a0 Soon we will be learning to give change.<\/p>\n

Literacy – We looked at different letters that when put together make a long<\/strong> ‘i’\u00a0 vowel sound.\u00a0 We built words with ie, igh and Magic e with the ‘i’ vowel.\u00a0 We still have one more spelling pattern to examine that has this sound, _y.\u00a0 We also listened to and responded to a story called ‘Class Two at the Zoo’.\u00a0 We are continuing to explore this text into next week and make STEM links (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths).\u00a0 We also wrote some special sentences about our Mums for the upcoming Mother’s Day.\u00a0 Mums, get the tissues ready!<\/p>\n

Topic – We started to make ‘De’Leving’s Peel’ using boxes brought from home.\u00a0 Some children have been very creative with how they have added the different features such as flag, narrow windows, steps and turret.\u00a0 We are hoping to finish them on Monday and move on to learning about how St Patrick Murray contributed to all the beautiful trees and flowers found in Livingston.<\/p>\n

RE – We have been learning about the life of St Patrick and how he used the shamrock to teach people in Ireland about God the Father, Jesus, his Son and the Holy Spirit.<\/p>\n

Expressive Arts – We have begun our Spring Assembly practise.\u00a0 The children are learning the songs well and those who have a reading part will take theirs home on Monday to practise.<\/p>\n
