This week begins Fair Trade fortnight.\u00a0 We looked at the Fair Trade logo and learned what it means.\u00a0 We were able to spot different products with this sign looking at groceries in an online supermarket.<\/p>\n

Pablo the Banana informed us that lots of our foods comes from many different countries around the world.\u00a0 We learned how farmers grow bananas and all about the journey of bananas from the farm to our shops.\u00a0 We designed posters of Pabelo telling people to buy Fair Trade.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Thursday was World Book Day and this starts a week of activities related to reading.<\/p>\n

We read a story \u2018Happy Hatchday\u2019 and then watched the author Rob Biddulph teach us how to draw the character.\u00a0 We worked very hard and Mrs Meikle was very pleased with our amazing drawings.<\/p>\n

We read Charlie Cooks Favourite Book, spoke about our favourite books and drew the cover.\u00a0 We then wrote why we liked it.<\/p>\n

We took part in \u2018Drop everything and Read\u2019 when the bell sounded we took our book and read it.\u00a0 We also made our own book marks.<\/p>\n

This week we have been looking at doubles and doubles +1 we are getting good at recalling the answers.\u00a0 We have also been practising counting in 2\u2019s and 10\u2019s and practising writing our numbers to 20 making sure we have no reversals.<\/p>\n

In Religion we listened to the story \u2018The Good Samaritan\u2019 and discussed how we could be a good Samaritan and a good friend to each other.<\/p>\n

We changed our Role Play Area in to a supermarket shop.\u00a0 We had great fun buying and selling food to each other and we made some Fair Trade stickers to add to the food.<\/p>\n

This week\u2019s highlights<\/p>\n

Mrs Russell \u2018I enjoyed meeting Pabelo and learning all about where bananas come from and how they get to our shops\u2019<\/p>\n

Martyna \u2018I like choosing my own learning\u2019<\/p>\n

Azmeer \u2018I like playing with the train set\u2019<\/p>\n

Faye \u2018I liked World Book Day\u2019<\/p>\n

Connor \u2018I liked doing gym\u2019<\/p>\n

Cameron \u2018I like reading\u2019<\/p>\n
