{"id":16451,"date":"2023-03-03T15:27:00","date_gmt":"2023-03-03T15:27:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/wl\/stjohnogilvieprimary\/?p=16451"},"modified":"2023-03-03T15:27:27","modified_gmt":"2023-03-03T15:27:27","slug":"p2b-week-beginning-27th-february-2023","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/wl\/stjohnogilvieprimary\/2023\/03\/03\/p2b-week-beginning-27th-february-2023\/","title":{"rendered":"P2B Week Beginning 27th February 2023"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hello P2B families!<\/p>\n<p>Here are our highlights from the Red Table:<\/p>\n<p>Ciara said that the best part of her week, was learning that God said, \u201cWe are the greatest!\u201d\u00a0 The children were very excited to hear how special they were to God!<\/p>\n<p>Amy got very excited when she saw that our carrots have started to grow already!\u00a0 There is the smallest of sprouts but they are still there!<\/p>\n<p>Georgia-Rose thought that our lesson on up-levelling sentences was her highlight.\u00a0 The children wrote their own sentences in pairs and then swapped with another group to add adjectives.\u00a0 As you know, the Literacy homework consolidated this learning.<\/p>\n<p>Emily-Ann thought our World Book Day (which SJO are celebrating for a whole week) story \u2018The River\u2019 was the best part of her week.\u00a0 She enjoyed listening to the story and then learning about our very own River Almond.\u00a0 We saw it on Google Earth.\u00a0 It is an extremely long river that flows through other towns and cities too.\u00a0 We watched a video on Youtube that someone made using a drone.\u00a0 We ducked down when the drone went under some bridges.\u00a0 We also saw salmon swimming upstream, against the current!<\/p>\n<p>Mrs Devlin\u2019s favourite part of the week was our introductory lesson for Fairtrade Fortnight.\u00a0 We explored the meaning of the words \u2018Fair\u2019 and \u2018Unfair\u2019.\u00a0 The children were horrified to discover that in other parts of the world, there are many inequalities.\u00a0 They are eager to help the poor!\u00a0 They know that one of the things they can do is to support poor farmers by helping them get a fair price for their crops so that they can feed, clothe and house their families.\u00a0 Buying Fair Trade products mean that these farmers get a fair price for their crops.\u00a0 They compared the taste of Fairtrade and non-Fairtrade chocolate.\u00a0 They liked the taste of the Fairtrade best and hope to encourage their parents to buy more of these products, if possible.<\/p>\n<p>Congratulations to Olivia, our Hot Chocolate award winner.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-16456\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/wl\/stjohnogilvieprimary\/files\/2023\/03\/IMG_2432-1024x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"620\" height=\"620\" \/> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-16455\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/wl\/stjohnogilvieprimary\/files\/2023\/03\/IMG_2430-1024x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"620\" height=\"620\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hello P2B families!
