Hello P2B families!<\/p>\n

Here are our highlights from the Green Table:<\/p>\n

TJ enjoyed our Word Boost story \u2018Home Sweet Hamish\u2019.\u00a0 His favourite Word Boost word was \u2018clumsy\u2019.\u00a0 Something, which he assures me, he is not!<\/p>\n

Karina liked learning the Bible story about Jesus healing a blind man.<\/p>\n

Eli loved our Live Lesson, were we met a real astronaut!\u00a0 He taught us about training to become one and answered the question we hoped he would answer, which was all about food in Space.\u00a0 We learned that all the moisture is removed from food, to be brought to Space and then it is put back in, before it is eaten.\u00a0 This is called \u2018dehydrate\u2019 and \u2018rehydrate\u2019.\u00a0 The children enjoyed pretending to put on their seat belts and then undoing them and floating in Space.\u00a0 Ask your child to show you how to put on their astronaut seat belt and what happens to toothpaste in Space when the astronauts are finished brushing their teeth!<\/p>\n

Lilly said the best lesson for her, was our big P3 joined up handwriting, of the letters i and g together.\u00a0 We discussed words that would need these letters: big, dig, fig (which Mrs Devlin is going to buy us to taste), pig, tig and wig.<\/p>\n

Maja loved ball skills with Mrs Lafferty.<\/p>\n

Sofia liked music with Mrs Morrison.\u00a0 The children continued their learning about syllables.\u00a0 Sofia was able to tell me that her name has 3 syllables.\u00a0 Well done Sofia!<\/p>\n

Mrs Devlin\u2019s favourite lesson was our learning about the life of St Brigid.\u00a0 We celebrate this feast day on February 1st<\/sup>, the day we believe she died.\u00a0 This saint is important to Mrs Devlin because not only was she Irish but also, Mrs Devlin chose her Confirmation name after her.\u00a0 The children role-played the important story about how she got land to build a church.\u00a0 We learned a beautiful song about her life (https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=yqs7lcZvSA8) and then followed up with weaving.\u00a0 The children were able to build on their learning of making a Chinese lantern, as the first steps were the same.<\/p>\n

Congratulations to Ollie, our Hot Chocolate award winner this week and Maja, our Reading Champion!<\/p>\n

On Tuesday, we hope to visit St Peter\u2019s Church as part of our learning about the Sacrament of Baptism.\u00a0 Please send your child dressed for wet weather conditions.\u00a0 Thank you.<\/p>\n
