{"id":14750,"date":"2022-10-01T17:46:01","date_gmt":"2022-10-01T17:46:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/wl\/stjohnogilvieprimary\/?p=14750"},"modified":"2022-10-01T17:46:01","modified_gmt":"2022-10-01T17:46:01","slug":"p2b-week-beginning-26th-september-2022","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/wl\/stjohnogilvieprimary\/2022\/10\/01\/p2b-week-beginning-26th-september-2022\/","title":{"rendered":"P2B Week Beginning 26th September 2022"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hello P2B families!<\/p>\n<p>Here are the learning highlights of the week from the Yellow Table:<\/p>\n<p>Ciara said the best part of her week was learning songs and rhymes with Mrs Morrison.\u00a0 \u201c10 Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed\u201d was her favourite one!<\/p>\n<p>Amy liked handwriting this week.\u00a0 We teaching handwriting at this time of the year in families of how they are formed.\u00a0 This week we revised the formation of \u2018l, i and j\u2019 that all begin with a downward movement.\u00a0 Amy, your handwriting was beautiful!\u00a0 You remembered that \u2018j\u2019 does not rest on the line but hangs down like a monkey\u2019s tail from a branch!<\/p>\n<p>Georgia-Rose loved our \u2018Maths Week Scotland\u2019 activity where we worked with a \u00a0partner to see how many triangles we could see inside a larger triangle and how many squares we could see inside a larger square.\u00a0 When we went over the answers on the smartboard, the children were amazed at how many there was to find!<\/p>\n<p>Eli also said his learning highlight was a \u2018Maths Week Scotland\u2019 activity.\u00a0 This one however was when we had a challenge to work with a partner to build as tall a tower as possible with lego without it toppling over and also to build as tall a tower as possible with marshmallows without it toppling over!\u00a0 We learned from this that buildings need to be be created with sturdy shapes that fit together and do not change shape and need a strong foundation.\u00a0 Well done Primary 2B, super teamwork!<\/p>\n<p>Mrs Devlin\u2019s highlight was our discussion on how we use maths in everyday life from the moment we wake up (Time), to when we brush our teeth (1<sup>st<\/sup> we put the toothpaste on, 2<sup>nd<\/sup> we \u2026..) to when we go to bed!
