<\/p>\nHello P2A families!<\/p>\n
Here are our learning highlights according to the Yellow and Blue Table:<\/p>\n
Aiden G\u2019s highlight was baking bread.\u00a0 We have been learning about farming in Scotland.\u00a0 The children listened to the story of \u2018The Little Red Hen\u2019 to learn about the different stages bread goes through from farm to fork. Aiden thought this was the best part of his week, especially the chocolate spread topping!<\/p>\n
Pola enjoyed our Word Boost story, \u2018Pig\u2019s Prize\u2019 and her favourite Word Boost word was \u2018prod\u2019.<\/p>\n
Ruari said he enjoyed our whole class Narrative writing piece called, \u2018Big Teddy, Little Teddy\u2019\u00a0 In this particular story, the two teddies were squashed in a toy box but then moved over to give each other enough space.\u00a0 One of the features of a Narrative, is a \u2018Complication\u2019 (problem), followed by a Resolution (solution).\u00a0 The children then proceeded to write their own Narrative, called \u2018Big Dog, Little Dog\u2019.\u00a0 Ask your child if they can remember what their Complication and Resolution was.<\/p>\n
Rebekah enjoyed feeling real wheat as part of our learning about baking bread.<\/p>\n
Ollie loved the game where each child had to make a list of correctly spelled words from a list of random letters.\u00a0 Ollie made 7 words.\u00a0 Well done Ollie!<\/p>\n
Ella said the best part of her week was when we acted out \u2018Little Red Hen\u2019.\u00a0 She played the part of the Lazy Dog.<\/p>\n
Eva enjoyed story writing for \u2018Big Dog, Little Dog\u2019, as described above.<\/p>\n
Paige enjoyed measuring out and adding yeast to the ingredients for making bread.\u00a0 We learned that this ingredient makes the bread rise.<\/p>\n
Kyle enjoyed the lesson about food packaging.\u00a0 We compared packaging of different loaves and discovered that bright colours, different styles of font and pictures help make packaging unique. We then designed our own packaging.\u00a0 Kyle\u2019s bread company was called \u2018Life of Bread\u2019. \u00a0I would buy it!<\/p>\n
My highlight was when we prayed a Decade of the Rosary together.\u00a0 We know that May is the month where we think about and pray to Mary more.\u00a0 The children made a lovely bouquet of flowers for our May Altar with Mrs Dickie.<\/p>\n
Congratulations to Ollie, our Hot Chocolate award winner for this week!<\/p>\n
