It has been another very busy week in P1B<\/p>\n

In Literacy we have been learning the ‘igh’ sound and can recall the sound and read words with this sound.\u00a0 We did talking sentences about whether I should give my mum a flower bouquet or a chocolate bouquet.\u00a0 We then used this to write our own persuasive sentence about whether a lamb or a chick was cuter.<\/p>\n

We went on a minibeast hunt in the Woodlands using magnifying glasses and containers to collect them to have a closer look.\u00a0 We found lots of bugs and were very excited to share our finding with our friends.\u00a0 We then made our own minibeasts using natural materials from the woodland.<\/p>\n

In Numeracy and Maths we have continued to work on addition and subtraction and we can recall the rule for subtraction – “big number take away smaller number”.\u00a0 We learned about greater than and less than and made Mr Greater Than and Mrs Less Than crocodiles to help us.<\/p>\n

We learned about what babies need and looked at class baby photos.\u00a0 We looked at the life cycle of a worm and learned why worms are very important for the soil.\u00a0 We watched a video that showed us how to make a wormery.<\/p>\n

This week we got to bring our Grass Heads home.\u00a0 They have started to grow lots of hair so we are now going to continue to look after them at home and said kind words to them to continue to help them grow.<\/p>\n

We worked very hard making Mother’s Day cards and crafts for our mums.<\/p>\n

Congratulations to Amy who was our Hot Chocolate Winner and to Reesa who was our Reading Champion.\u00a0 Congratulations also to the Orange Table this weeks points winners!<\/p>\n

We hope all our mums have a lovely Mother’s Day and that everyone has a lovely weekend and enjoys this great weather.<\/p>\n
