On Tuesday this week it was World Water Day.<\/p>\n

This week\u2019s Children Rights activities linkedto the following articles:<\/p>\n

Article 24 (health and health services): Every child has the right to the best possible health. Governments must provide good quality health care, clean water, nutritious food, and a clean environment and education on health and well-being so that children can stay healthy. Richer countries must help poorer countries achieve this.<\/p>\n

Article 27 (adequate standard of living): Every child has the right to a standard of living that is good enough to meet their physical and social needs and support their development. Governments must help families who cannot afford to provide this.<\/p>\n

We made posters to highlight the dangers from pollution and climate change to the amount of clean useable water. We were shocked to learn that 1000 children a day die from lack of clean, drinkable water.<\/p>\n

In math we continued developing our understanding of fractions, decimals and percentages by using our knowledge of multiplication and division<\/p>\n

We made Persuasive Tourist Posters which your child can show you theirs on Teams.<\/p>\n

On Wednesday we explored the woods and played cooperative games. In Art this week we created cherry blossom trees.<\/p>\n

Next week we will continue our persuasive writing ‘Why should every child should learn to swim?’\u00a0 and continue to find fractions, percentages and decimal amounts.<\/p>\n
