Another great week in P1B.<\/p>\n

One of our favourite tasks this week was learning about Shrove Tuesday. We carried out a survey to find out the most popular topping in the class and then Mrs Russell gave us a pancake with our favourite topping on it. They were delicious!<\/p>\n

We also learned about the meaning of Ash Wednesday and enjoyed a visit from Father Simon, when some of us received ashes. We learned about Lent and discussed something we could give up or take up for 40 days and 40 nights.<\/p>\n

We enjoyed taking part in World Book Day activities, such as \u2018Drop Everything and Read\u2019 and a mystery reader to the classroom. We enjoyed listening to her read to us beside the fire.<\/p>\n

\nThis week in topic we read the story \u2018The Cautious Caterpillar\u2019 and learned all about the life cycle of a butterfly. We enjoyed making a life cycle craft using pasta and rice.<\/p>\n
