This week has been another busy week for Primary 6. Working towards our Rights Respecting Gold Award we celebrated Article 3 – The best interest of the child must be foremost when making decisions. The children had a lot to say on the subject as you can imagine.\u00a0 Fortnight began on 21st of February and will continue until next Friday. In class we used ipads to research\u00a0 Fairtrade and we created leaflets with the information we discovered. As part of our learning about Scotland and famous Scottish places we carried out research into The Kelpies visitor site and created Information Reports. We were able to use our writing targets to make these interesting and structured. We also used modelling clay to create our version of the famous Loch Ness Monster – Nessie. We hope to finish painting them next week.<\/p>\n

In math we have been continued developing our knowledge of fractions, decimals and percentages. It is great to know that we can use our multiplication and division skills to solve problems and change fractions into decimals, decimals into percentages and percentages into fractions.<\/p>\n

In RE we have been learning about the Stations of the Cross and some children were able to complete some writing on their Pope Francis Faith Award.<\/p>\n

The weather has been very changeable and the children who brought a change of footwear greatly appreciated not having to sit with heavy wet boots and socks on.<\/p>\n
