Hello P2A families!<\/p>\n

Here are the learning highlights of the week from the Yellow Table:<\/p>\n

Eva has loved learning about the history of Livingston.\u00a0 We have been learning how a Scottish King gave this land to his Flemish friend called \u2018de Leving\u2019 about 900 years ago.\u00a0 Back then, Livingston was just fields, rivers and forests, perfect for hunting!\u00a0 Baron de Leving built a tower known as \u2018de Leving\u2019s Peel\u2019 and a \u2018toun\u2019 grew up around this peel to house his servants.\u00a0 The toun grew and grew.\u00a0 Over time, de Leving\u2019s toun has turned into Livingston.\u00a0 So interesting!!! The children built their own Peel from a choice of boxes, lego, straws, blocks or paper.\u00a0 Look out for these amazing Peels over the weekend on your child\u2019s Seesaw.<\/p>\n

Ruari said he really enjoyed our Burns Night celebrations, especially listening to \u2018Highland Cathedral\u2019 played on the bagpipes.\u00a0 Here is the link in case your child would like to listen to it again:<\/p>\n

Pola loved listening to \u2018The Gruffalo\u2019 in Scots.\u00a0 This week because of Burns Night, we were learning to speak, read and write some Scots vocabulary.\u00a0 Mrs Devlin had to seek the help of Mrs Lawrence for some of the pronunciation!\u00a0 We went up to the woodland for inspiration for our Scots writing, just as Burns used nature to inspire him.\u00a0 https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=e2qmm9o77NU&t=334s<\/a><\/p>\n

Aiden G liked PE with Mrs Lafferty were they continued developing their ball skills through games.<\/p>\n

Kyle said decorating and eating shortbread was his highlight.<\/p>\n

Rebekah loved weaving and how we used a monster she made during \u2018Choosing Time\u2019 for our measuring in maths with metre sticks.\u00a0 Her monster was longer than a metre.<\/p>\n

My highlight was our time in the woodlands.\u00a0 Hopefully now as the weather continues to improve, we can resume our outdoor learning.<\/p>\n
