Weekly Update"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It\u2019s been a strange old week in Primary 7A, with only some of our class in school and the rest still learning at home.\u00a0 It has been brilliant to see such a high level of engagement from many of the children who have been completing learning tasks online and also joining the rest of the class for our daily catch ups.\u00a0 The children in school have been equally busy with their learning and have been absolute super stars!<\/p>\n<p>In Maths this week we started some work on calculating the volume of cubes and cuboids.\u00a0 We will return to this once we have all of the children back in class.\u00a0 We also attempted to carry out at a Christmas Maths Quiz on teams, there were a few technical difficulties but we got there in the end.<\/p>\n<p>In writing this week, we created a seasonal postcard.\u00a0 The children had to create a Christmas scene and then describe it in detail.\u00a0 The standard of descriptive writing has really improved over recent months, particularly the use of similes and metaphors in their writing.<\/p>\n<p>In Art, the children in school have been busy trying to complete our classroom window display in time for the big reveal next week.\u00a0 We have been incredibly impressed by the standard of work they have produced.\u00a0 Here are a few pictures (yes, the children really did do these by themselves).\u00a0 Aren\u2019t they amazing?!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-11447\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/wl\/stjohnogilvieprimary\/files\/2020\/12\/1283AE3D-E61A-4325-AAE8-078EEBE67A35-300x300.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Finally, today was crazy hair day.\u00a0 Here are a few examples of our crazy hair!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-11448\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/wl\/stjohnogilvieprimary\/files\/2020\/12\/0EE9111A-C301-4961-B423-A41A0B6D3B69-300x263.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"263\" \/> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-11449\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/wl\/stjohnogilvieprimary\/files\/2020\/12\/9A8C1090-2E58-4141-95E1-E551D72D199C-300x300.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" \/> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-11450\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/wl\/stjohnogilvieprimary\/files\/2020\/12\/E3DA3196-1319-4DB6-9627-08760DCA74F5-300x300.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We hope you all have a fantastic weekend and we will see the children next week for the last week of term.<\/p>\n<p>Mrs Craig and Mrs Morrison<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It\u2019s been a strange old week in Primary 7A, with only some of our class in school and the rest still learning at home.\u00a0 It has been brilliant to see such a high level of engagement from many of the &hellip;
