<\/p>\nHere are this week’s highlights according to your special children:<\/p>\n
Zac loved his time in the woodlands.\u00a0 As you can see from our photos this week, we went up to the woodlands for our handwriting lesson and used the natural materials to form the letters.\u00a0 Zac also enjoyed the free play afterwards where he climbed some trees.\u00a0 We have started to notice more signs of Autumn!\u00a0 This is Mrs Devlin’s favourite season!<\/p>\n
Reyansh enjoyed engaging in our lesson about the digestive system this week.\u00a0 You will know that the children took ‘stomachs’ home that they made this week (some were so grossed out by them they put them in the bin).\u00a0 We learned how our food goes on a journey through our body.\u00a0 It starts in our mouth where our teeth break it down mixed with our saliva, travels down our oesophagus into our stomach where it gets tossed around and mixed with digestive stomach juices, then it makes its way into our intestines before any food the body is unable to digest to use for energy goes into the toilet (cue lots of giggles).\u00a0 We watched what happened to some crackers when they got mixed with stomach juices (fizzy lemonade).\u00a0 “Cool” was the word used a lot to describe what they could see happening.<\/p>\n
Aiden shared how he has liked going over the sounds ‘ng’ and ‘sh’ learned during Home Learning.\u00a0 You will find videos on Seesaw next week where your child can further revise these at home.<\/p>\n
Mia liked writing a letter to the school nurse this week.\u00a0 The children received their flu vaccinations this week and as part of our learning about keeping safe from the spread of germs, we wrote a letter to the school nurse telling her all we do to keep safe.\u00a0 Some of these included: washing our hands, putting tissues we have used for our nose in a special bin with a lid, keeping a 2m distance from adults, coughing or sneezing into our elbow if we do not have a tissue and using our own belongings from our own pack in class.\u00a0 We were also able to use the common word we were learning this week ‘from’ at the end of our letter.<\/p>\n
Mrs Devlin’s highlight has to be receiving all the fantastic Seesaw tasks!\u00a0 Each day we have looked at the new posts on the Smartboard.\u00a0 The children were so excited to hear that sometimes Mrs Devlin will write feedback and sometimes she will speak.
