Thank you very much to the 12 parents helpers this week. They were incredible in their help and how restorative and assertive they were with every child.
We were very lucky and had a beautiful day, warm and sunny. We were looking for signs of spring and we found different types of plants and talked about which ones were weeds and which ones were flowers. We also looked at signs in the environment , what they mean and how they help us to keep ourselves safe. We spoke about numbers on the doors and the bin numbers and how numbers help everybody find their own bin by matching the numbers. We discussed how the words and the numbers on the bus we saw helped us to identify where they go. We saw and heard birds. We counted some of them. We saw 3 dogs and then we heard one more so there were 4 altogether. We looked at the post box and post office and we spoke about the different services that it offers. The post box had the days of the week and the time for the letters being collected. We even saw the post man in the morning!
At Scotmid we talked about foods that grow above and under the ground. The children talked about the fruit and vegetables that they liked and disliked. We practised our life skills by buying blueberries, bananas, apples and strawberries. We identified different coins and we counted the change.
We had great fun learning in our community!
