Morning prayer followed by a Hail Mary for all our NHS staff and carers. May God give them the strength, wisdom and skill to care for our sick. Amen

Spelling. Word Wizards and Super Spellers

Set 11 – Write a paragraph using as many words as you can from set 11 words.  Rememeber to think carefully about your core targets.

Rapid Readers

Use your common words and spelling words to write a short paragraph using as many words as you can.

Reading – read the next chapter of your book and write down the words you do not know the meaning of.

L.I. I am using my metalinguistic strategies to work out the meaning of words.

  1. Read the next chapter of your book at home. As you read, write down the words that you are not sure of their meaning.

2. Use your metalinguistic strategies : Read Back, Read Forward, Peer/Parent discussion. Only after you have tried to work out the meaning for yourself, should you check the dictionary definition.

RAPID READERS – continue with your reading tasks in your home pack.

Mental starter – Go to the next page in your times table challenge book.  Time yourself then see if you can beat your time second time around.
