Valentine’s Day Card Activity

Hi everyone

Hope you are all safe and well and enjoying our blog activities.  Today I am going to give you some ideas for some valentines cards.  Some examples can be seen below.  You and your child/children have the opportunity to use your imagination and express your own ideas throughout the activity.  These activities inspire imagination and curiosity while problem solving what goes where and how I can attach this to that etc..  It develops fine motor skills through cutting experiences, hand to eye co-ordination and brings out your artistic and creative side.  You can use a variety of resources anything at all even items around the house, recycle cereal boxes, toilet roll tubes, birthday or Christmas cards, ribbon, buttons, with parents permission cut up old bits of material from t-shirts etc and  lots more.  Cut up these items to make different shapes, create collage materials for your cards.  The side of a cardboard box can be cut to make a square, fold in half and you can glue on your collage or even another picture or a photo  to make a card.  The pictures below were created from recycled gift bags cut into heart shapes, cake paper cases cut out, cotton buds dipped in red paint to give the dot detail round the hearts.  The bee and ladybird was created using paint and making a thumb  print.  You can use tissue paper or toilet tissue to create a ruffle effect round your heart shapes.  All these items can be found in your home.  Look forward to seeing your designs.

Stay Safe
