DAY 3 OF HEALTH WEEK!

CHILDREN I WILL BE IN THE SCHOOL HUB TODAY SO YOU MIGHT NOT SEE ME MUCH ON TEAMS. SADLY I MIGHT NOT BE ABLE TO GIVE YOU A SMILEY WAVE WHEN YOU LOG INTO TEAMS THIS MORNING, BUT I WILL MANAGE A HAPPY SMILEY FACE LATER IN THE AFTERNOON.   I WILL ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS YOU MAY HAVE AS SOON AS I CAN WHEN I GET BACK. MEANWHILE YOU CAN HELP EACH OTHER ON CHILDRENS CHATTER! TRY TO USE THIS CHANNEL MORE SO THAT YOU CAN STAY CONNECTED IN YOUR FRIENDSHIPS.

Good morning children!

Let’s pray the morning prayer together.  Now say a prayer to God to thank Him for our families. Although this pandemic has been challenging for many of us, the most positive thing has been the time you have had to spend with your mums and dads and carers. Thank you God, for letting us grow in love as a family, for helping us learn and play and cook and walk together and for allowing us to discover all the wonderful things about each other that we never knew before! Amen.

LEARNING TIME INTERVALS

These are different strategies for learning how to work out time intervals/elapsed time:

The first one is the T-Chart strategy

Finding elapsed time with multiple time intervals

REAL LIFE PROBLEM SOLVING – time intervals (YOU MAY HAVE TO MAKE THIS YOUR LAST TASK OF THE DAY)

Write down the time that you started your home learning. Work out the elapsed time ( time it took you between beginning and finishing your home learning)

You may want to time yourself on each activity then add all the times together OR time yourself when you have a break for lunch or going for a walk or helping with chores and take this away from the total time you worked.

I would love you to post your answers showing your working using the T-bar method or a number line as shown in the video!

You might even want to time yourself while you are doing a sports activity today and find out the time elapsed since you started and finished. Have fun!

It is always a good idea to drink lots of water.  Here is a water tracker sheet for you to record how much water you drink. You could even draw and design your own water tracker sheet.
