Hello Everyone

Hope you are all safe and well, all the ladies in the nursery are missing you lots.

Today I wonder if you could maybe help your grown up to tidy up your sock drawer. When I looked in my drawer it could do with a tidy, do you think you could match the socks into pairs or even make a simple pattern with the socks.

Here are some ideas:

  1. Short sock – long sock – short sock- long sock

or if you like a challenge…

2. Mix it up 2 short socks- 1 long sock – 2 short socks – 1 long sock

You can make it as easy or as difficult as you would like, let your imagination go wild !!!

If you enjoyed making patterns here are some more ideas with items you can probably find your the house… e,g

  1. coloured paper cases
  2. clothes pegs
  3. buttons
  4. shoes
  5. fruit & veg (my personal favourite as you can eat them afterwards)

I have added a few photos to give you some ideas (see above).

You can discuss with your grown up about all sort of things depending on what items you use. e,g

  1. colour
  2. shape
  3. how it feels to touch (soft, hard , lumpy, smooth ,etc)
  4. size (long, short, big, small)
  5. or even count how many of each item you used to make the pattern

Enjoy making lots of patterns let us know how you get on, can’t wait to see your ideas.

Take Care,

Nursery Team
