In Phonics this week we have been learning about consonant blends – br cr dr fr pr. On Wednesday we showed some of our adults what we do in Phonics. We love writing our spellings in different ways, this week we used chalks and wrote rainbow words.
In Maths we continued our work on addition to 20, this week we used our knowledge of doubling numbers to help us. For example:
6 + 5 =
Double 6 is 12
Take one away = 11

In PE we played a tricky game called opposites, whatever Miss Prince told us to do we had to do the opposite – we had to concentrate really hard! We also practised our ball skills; we learnt the bounce pass and the chest pass and practised these with a partner.
In Writing we sequenced a story about Bonfire Night. We wrote sentences and ordered them correctly, checking that our writing made sense.
During Milk and story we listened to Katie Morag stories and learned about the Isle of Struay. We made a mind map to record the things we’ve learnt about Katie Morag so far. Next week we will be writing to Katie Morag and telling her all about where we live.
We had interesting show and tells from the girls on Thursday, everything from first wobbly teeth to homemade dresses!
We also began practising our Nativity songs with P2B, next week we will find out our parts – we are very excited!
