I hope that you have been out enjoying this glorious weather today!
I have attached the home learning grid for week 5. In this grid we will be starting our new topic – ‘The farm’. This topic is my favourite and I’m sure that you will all enjoy it too.
Each home learning grid is a mixture of revision and some new content, to make sure that all your previous learning is sticking in your brain too. If there is anything else that you think you need to help with your learning please get in touch by leaving a comment here or on twitter.
I have updated Sumdog with some new competitions just now and will be updating the rest of our online resources and games on Monday.
Good morning everyone. I hope you had a lovely wee holiday and managed to get out and about.
This week is rather a short week so your task is to go outside and complete 2 little activities. These are a plants and flowers hunt and a Spring hunt.
I hope you all had a lovely long weekend. I am missing you more and more as time goes on. I hope you are all getting on well at home and managing to keep safe.
As always your continued hard work at home has made me so proud, I have loved seeing some of the work you have managed to complete, please keep sending this to me either through the blog or pictures on twitter. I have heard lots of children have even managed to do a bit more, one was able to create their own nail bar – very well priced as well. I have loved seeing and hearing about all your creations.
This weeks home learning grid is attached at the bottom of the page. I have also assigned new reading books on active learn, this is a new system we have been given access too. Please let me know how the children get on with these. There will be sumdog challenges and new education city tasks set throughout the week. Well done to you all, you really do continue to blow my socks off!
Good Morning P2/1. I hope you have had a lovely long weekend.
It is a short week this week so please do not feel you need to do all the activities set. You may want to keep some for another time when you are looking for something to do.
There are new challenges set on Sumdog and here is the link to the P2 grid for our 5th week of home learning – Week 5
Remember you can also explore subjects in Education City and IDL and I am hoping you are still using Teach your Monster to Read.
P1 – You can complete the P1 tasks set by all P1 teachers on different days and you can also complete the ‘Learning Across the Curriculum’ column on the Week 5 grid. This week it covers our new topic, The Farm, a food technology task and a dance activity.
I am missing you all and would love to hear how you are getting on.
Hello everyone! Mrs. Macandrew here. I hope you are all well and managing to get outside a bit and enjoy looking at all the signs that Spring is here. There are lots of new leaves on trees, little flowers and lots of twittering birds.
Here is this week’s lesson.
Week 2 PLANTSPrimary 2/1
This week we will be looking at the parts of a plant and deciding what the plant needs to grow big and strong.
Morning everyone, here’s today’s challenge, the video with me in it is a bit more tricky and the one with my little girl is a little bit easier. Good luck
I hope that you are all well and taking care of each other. I have been really enjoying seeing what activities you have been doing through photos on Twitter, please continue this!
I have attached this week’s home learning activity grid below. This is the last week of similar activities before we move on – next week, we’ll be having a look at our new topic (I think you will all like it!)
Please remember: it’s up to you and your family to decide your home learning routine. Everyone will have different routines and this is okay, whatever suits your family the most. Lots of play and outdoor activities are important too.
I will be updating Sumdog with some new challenges for you (have a look out for a spelling challenge too).
I will put some more books on the ActiveLearn resource.
Remember to check out education city too for a range of games to support learning (I will assign some today).
Some websites that you might find useful:
https://worksheetgenius.com/ (You can make up worksheets that suit your child’s ability from a range of curricular areas).
https://www.topmarks.co.uk/maths-games/5-7-years/counting (The children should be familiar with a lot of the number games on this site – try ‘hit the button’ for some competitive fun!)
Twinkl (offering parents some free access to resources during this period of school closure, lots of worksheets to have a look at.
https://www.duolingo.com/ (a great site for practising langauges – it can be downloaded as an app onto Ipads too).
P2 – Here is your weekly learning grid. week 4 Remember these are just suggestions for activities.
P1 – Keep an eye on our blog for your daily activities. You can also use P2 learning grid but please only look at the column ‘Across the Curriculum’ as this would be used in class for P1 and P2.
I hope that you are all still finding some time to read and listen to stories. I have been enjoying my book in the garden and in the bath!
Remember you can also download Oxford Owl and enjoy their ebooks. You could create some of your own reading tasks to match the books. Be story detective, design a poster, do a book review, interview a character, role play, make a common word game etc.
I look forward to seeing what activities you are involved in this week.
Here is this weeks home learning grid – with lots of fun and challenging activities.
I will be uploading new reading books on active learn today, we only get one book a week – as we would normally get in school. You can do some extra activities with these books too such as:
– a wanted poster for a main character
– create a few questions you may like to ask the main character / author / someone in the story
– use the bloom superhero questions to develop your comprehension skills
– create a new front cover etc
Have a great week p2, you continue to blow my socks off with all your hard work, keep up the great work
