Final week in P2A

I can’t believe that it is our final week together in P2A! I am so proud of all your hard work this year. I have uploaded a video to my Twitter page of some of our amazing P2A memories together. I have tried to upload it to the blog, however the file size is too big. I will be there tomorrow for report hand-outs at 1.30-2pm to say a goodbye. Pupils attending this is up to parent/carer discretion, however I would love to see you all there before the end of term.  I have also collected pupils work together in individual folders, and any P.E bags or things left in trays which will be there to be collected tomorrow too.

Here is your home learning grid for your final week.

A message to P2A

Hi all,

As it is coming to the last couple of weeks in P2 I have uploaded a short  video onto my Twitter page @CetrangoloMiss to let the class know that sadly I wont be returning to Simpson after the summer (I  have tried to upload the video to the blog, however it wont let me). I’ve had such a pleasure teaching you all. We’ve had so many amazing memories together. I hope you all manage to enjoy your last two weeks in Primary 2 and hopefully I will be able to see you all sometime soon.  Keep up the good work, you are all doing amazing!

P2A Home Learning

I can’t quite believe that we are onto our last two weeks in P2A together. I’m missing you all very much and I’m so proud of all your hard work. Here is your home learning grid for this week coming. There are some lovely activities this week to encourage you to begin reflecting on your time in primary 2. I’d love to see how you get on with the activities by sharing your learning with me on Twitter @CetrangoloMiss. There are also some Assessments on Sumdog to have a go at if you would like.
P2 home Learning- Week 10

Welcome to June P2A

Good morning P2A, what a lovely day it is!

It was so amazing to see how well you engaged with Fitness Fortnight and I’m very glad you enjoyed the activities.

Here is your week 8 learning grid.
P2 Home Learning Grid – Week 8 (New Format)

You may notice there are a few more activities. The grid will now have 1 literacy activity, 1 Numeracy activity and 2 other activities for each day.  This is just to give you some more options of activities to try out. As usual, you do not need to complete all activities and some of them you might try out more than once.  Remember to share any activities you do with me on Twitter. I will also be setting some assessments on Sumdog if you want to have a go.

I am so proud of all your hard work so far, keep it up!

P2A Fitness Fortnight Week 2

Hi P2A,

I just wanted to say how impressed I have been with all your engagement so far in Fitness Fortnight. Just  a reminder that if you are wanting any alternative activities during this week please make use of the websites IDL, Sumdog, Education City and Teach your monster to read. I have set up a class competition and some assessments to have a go at on Sumdog if you would like. Head over to my page on Twitter @CetrangoloMiss to see my attempt of activity 1 for Sports Day. I have tried uploading it to the blog, however it wont let me.
Enjoy Sports Day! Keep up the good work P2A!

P2A Update

Hi P2A,

I am so impressed with how well you are engaging with Fitness Fortnight. I’m enjoying taking part in the activities myself. As an optional extra I have created Place Value and Spelling assessments on Sumdog. As usual, option b in the spelling assessments is more challenging. These are running until the Sunday 31st March.  You also have the West Lothian Sumdog competition which finishes tomorrow. All you have to do to take part is play the games. Remember you also have access to IDL, Education City and Teach your monster to read.  I have created more folders on Education City which have new activities for you to have a go at as well. If you can please share your learning with me on Twitter or through the blog as I love seeing the activities you are doing at home.

Well done for all your hard work so far!

P2A Home Learning Week 6

Hi P2a, I hope you are all doing well.

Here is your home learning grid for week 6. I want to say a massive well done for your all hard work so far and it is great to see you sharing your learning with me on Twitter.
P2 Home Learning – Week 6

There are new assessments on Sumdog- Addition and Subtraction, Spelling 3a and 3b and Grammar. As usually, group b for spelling is more challenging. These are really useful to have a go at as I get to see how you did in the assessment. The assessments run from Monday-Sunday.

Another few points to make…Friday’s assembly has been uploaded onto the school blog for you to watch. In the assemblies we are doing shout outs for as many pupils as possible who have carried out random acts of kindness. Please share any random acts of kindness with me through Twitter. Also, if you are not already following @WLPENetwork on Twitter please do as they are sharing fun daily PE challenges and ideas. Number Talks will be shared daily on Twitter as usual.

It is great to see all of you are accessing the online resources and completing activities from the home learning grids. Remember it is not expected of you to be replicating the usual school day at home. Children are still learning and developing their skills when doing activities such as jigsaws, baking and playing. If you are finding it hard to concentrate at home try doing shorter intervals of 15-30 minutes and have regular breaks in between them as it can be hard to concrete for lengthier periods of time, especially at home.
I’m missing you all lots. Keep up the good work!

P2A Home Learning Week 5

Hi P2A, I hope you are enjoying your long weekend. I am missing you all very much and I hope you are doing well.

Here is your home learning grid for week 5.
P2 Home Learning – Week 5

I have created  Measurement, Spelling and Grammar assessments on Sumdog. For the Spelling assessments, set a is more challenging. Please have a go at these by Sunday. Don’t worry too much about the time limit, take your time and make sure to read the questions carefully. These are a great way to practice skills at home and for me to see how you are getting on.

Remember there are lots of useful websites to explore which you have all been provided logins for.
1. IDL is a great resource to develop Literacy and Numeracy skills. https://idlsgroup.com/
2. On Education City I have created folders under different topics. There are worksheets and online activities you can have a go at.  https://www.educationcity.com/
3. Teach Your Monster to Read is a great resource to help with reading and phonics.  https://teachyourmonstertoread.com/my_account
4. Sumdog focuses on developing Maths, Grammar and Spelling.

Remember to share your learning with me on Twitter @CetrangoloMiss

I understand this is a shorter school week so don’t worry about getting through all the activities. Remember just to do what you can as we are all still getting used to the current circumstances. Keep up the good work, you are all doing an amazing job! Take regular breaks and make sure to enjoy the sunshine.

P2 Resources

Hi all,

Hope you are all doing well. Here is a child-friendly book which focuses on supporting and reassuring children about COVID-19. This is a useful resource if your child is perhaps feeling nervous, anxious or confused about the current situation.
I have attached an English, Spanish and Polish version.

I have also attached a really great resource which can be used to help children view quarantine as a more positive experience. It is a time capsule which encourages children to keep a diary of all the fun and exciting things they are doing during lockdown.
