The children had free choice about how to present their talk and had 3 weeks to prepare it and tell us all about their &#8216; Favourite Thing.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Children had specific Talking Targets and Audience Targets and carried out some work on how to give constructive feedback to peers. Children also had the opportunity to ask and answer questions, we all learned a great deal about each other and interesting topics this week.<\/p>\n<p>Tickled Pink &#8211;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Some super practical measuring this week using metre sticks, trundle wheels , measuring tapes and items to weigh and investigate volume.<\/li>\n<li>Some wonderful class talks which showed creativity, organisation and planning. The children were able to talk about the targets &#8211; clear voice, eye contact, loud voice, interesting and containing at least 5 facts and to talk for 3 mins &#8211; The children can identify what they might need to work on for improvement.<\/li>\n<li>Super comprehension tasks this week where texts were discussed, predictions made, questions asked and personal opinions given.<\/li>\n<li>Took part in Hubs session<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Green for Growth &#8211;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>We found it a bit tricky identifying units of measurement for length &#8211; selecting when you would measure with mm, cm, m or km depending on what you were measuring.<\/li>\n<li>Some of us found it tricky to Maintain our 5 Audience Targets when we listened to 3 or 4 class talks &#8211;\n<ul>\n<li>Eyes on person who is speaking<\/li>\n<li>Ears listening<\/li>\n<li>Feet still<\/li>\n<li>Hands still<\/li>\n<li>Ask a question when person has finished speaking<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Remember to take care with craft resources and not to waste materials, put lids on pens and glue.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It has been wonderful welcoming the children back after the Easter Break and we have enjoyed listening to their class talks this week.
