Friday 27th June"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I can\u2019t quite believe that we have come to the end of another year here at Super Seafield!\u00a0 We\u2019ve had a fantastic week where we\u2019ve celebrated our P7 and ELC leavers at special assemblies.\u00a0 There have been lots of fun activities and games going on across the school.\u00a0 A highlight was our school \u201cBreak the Rules Afternoon\u201d where our children loved rebelling against the rules set and then enjoyed an ice cream with their friends.\u00a0 Our ELC families came in for a \u201cStay and Play\u201d session which was enjoyed by all who attended.\u00a0 This event came on the back of feedback from our parents\/carers who asked to come along to take part in structured activities and feedback from those who attended this week was really positive \u2013 thank you to those who took time to complete the evaluation.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Staffing \u2013 <\/u><\/strong>As you will know, our staffing for next year is now set.<\/p>\n<p>P1\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Miss Robb (covering for Mrs Wallace\u2019s maternity leave<\/p>\n<p>P2\/3\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Mrs Denholm and Mrs Baird<\/p>\n<p>P3\/4\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Miss White (Mrs Bain on a Tuesday)<\/p>\n<p>P5\/6\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Miss Halliday<\/p>\n<p>P6\/7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Mr Hamilton (Mrs Flynn on a Thursday)<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Mrs Robertson will continue to cover class teacher non contact time, delivering a range of curricular areas.\u00a0 Mrs Bain is returning to us on a part time basis and will support learning groups on a Monday and work with P3\/4 on a Tuesday.\u00a0 Miss Cooper and Mrs Mills are sadly leaving us today.\u00a0 We thank them for their effort and commitment to the children they have taught and wish them well for what comes next.<\/p>\n<p>Our nursery team will be changing in August too.\u00a0 Ms Graham leaves us during the summer period.\u00a0 We thank her for her hard work during her time with us.\u00a0 We will be welcoming back Mrs Todd, pupil support worker in the nursery, who has been on secondment as a practitioner in another setting for the last couple of years, who has decided to return to her substantive post here at Seafield.\u00a0 She will be introduced to parents\/carers and meet the children when she starts with us in August.\u00a0 Our Area Support Manager Mrs Brown is also moving on to support different nursery settings and we welcome Ms Elizabeth Notman who will work with us on one day per week, supporting the school senior leadership team and the nursery staff team directly.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>ELC &#8211;<\/strong> <\/span> our nursery (ELC) remains open over the summer period.\u00a0 If your child will not be attending for any of their sessions, please let the staff team know.\u00a0 They will not have access to the groupcall system or the school email box so please ensure that absences are reported by telephone.\u00a0 The staff and children will be taking advantage of having the building to themselves so will make extra use of the gym hall and the outside field if the weather allows!\u00a0 A reminder to those children who are joining P1 that their last nursery sessions will be during week beginning 4th August, they are not able to attend nursery on Monday 11th or Tuesday 12th August.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Summer Programme <\/u><\/strong>\u00a0&#8211; there are a range of summer programmes and activities taking place across West Lothian over the summer, many of which have already been shared with you.\u00a0 You will find lots of information on West Lothian Council\u2019s website or social media.\u00a0 There are some links shared below however there are other opportunities being shared by a range of organisations, again you can find details across social media platforms.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.westlothian.gov.uk\/get-into-summer\">Get into Summer 2025 &#8211; West Lothian Council<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.westlothianleisure.com\/kids-activities\/summer-holiday-programme\/\">Summer Holiday Programme<\/a> \u2013 Xcite West Lothian<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.westlothianleisure.com\/activities\/xcite-outdoors\/xcite-outdoors-holiday-programme\/\">Xcite Outdoors Holiday Programme<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Tesco Stronger Starts \u2013 <\/u><\/strong>those of you who shop in Tesco may be familiar with their \u201cStronger Starts\u201d scheme where local organisations can be considered for funding to support projects which customers can vote on with blue tokens. \u00a0\u00a0I am pleased to see that an application made by our nursery team to seek funding for cooking equipment was successful and that from next week, you can vote for us in local Tesco stores.\u00a0 Please pass this on to your friends and families and hopefully we will be the winners of the vote!<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Seafield Gala Day \u2013 <\/u><\/strong>a reminder that any child who wishes to walk with the school\/nursery must be accompanied by an adult.\u00a0 Please meet in the playground for 11.45 for fancy dress judging before the procession.\u00a0 I hope that everyone has a fantastic day and that the sun shines for you all during civic week and on the day!<\/p>\n<p>The staff team and I would like to thank those who kindly gave gifts this week.\u00a0 Your thoughtfulness is greatly appreciated.\u00a0 We hope that all of our children and families have a fantastic summer break and look forward to seeing everyone back and refreshed after the holiday.\u00a0 A reminder that there are 2 staff inset days at the beginning of term and pupils will return on <strong>Wednesday 11<sup>th<\/sup> August. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Kind regards, Lynne Egan.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I can\u2019t quite believe that we have come to the end of another year here at Super Seafield!\u00a0 We\u2019ve had a fantastic week where we\u2019ve celebrated our P7 and ELC leavers at special assemblies.\u00a0 There have been lots of fun &hellip;
