{"id":1418,"date":"2022-01-28T12:15:22","date_gmt":"2022-01-28T12:15:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/wl\/seafieldps\/?p=1418"},"modified":"2022-01-27T21:30:56","modified_gmt":"2022-01-27T21:30:56","slug":"friday-28th-january-2022","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/wl\/seafieldps\/2022\/01\/28\/friday-28th-january-2022\/","title":{"rendered":"Friday 28th January 2022     P1\/2"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Learning Highlights<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>We were learning\u00a0 more about the work of Andy Scott and the materials he used to create his sculptures.<\/li>\n<li>We created our own sculptures using playdough and spaghetti.<\/li>\n<li>We have been learning about Robert Burns and have been reciting poems in class.<\/li>\n<li>We have been celebrating our Scottish culture in many ways\u00a0 this week and particularly enjoyed listening to favourite stories in Scots.<\/li>\n<li>We used Scottish vocabulary to express our feelings and emotions.<\/li>\n<li>We had a Scottish themed obstacle course for PE where we had to run round Loch Ness and try to spot Nessie who was hiding in the deep water, we had to hurl the haggis, loup the burn, jump\u00a0 on the stepping stones to safely cross the bog and then climb up Ben Nevis!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Tricky Tasks<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>We have been working on our\u00a0 descriptive writing and have been\u00a0 trying to add more detail.<\/li>\n<li>We have been learning the names of 3D shapes and found some of these a bit tricky to remember.<\/li>\n<li>We have been all been developing our addition skills and learning number bonds. P2 children have been working on numbers to 100 and counting in 2&#8217;s, 5&#8217;s and 10&#8217;s.<\/li>\n<li>We are working on our initial sounds, vowel diagraphs &#8211; ee,\u00a0 oo, ai, oa\u00a0 and some consonant diagraphs &#8211; sh, ch, wh.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>We have all been trying to demonstrate good listening, show good teamwork and continue to be be kind, respectful and responsible to others.
