Term 4 P.E. Days

Thank you for your support with school uniform and our new approach to P.E. kit.

We would request that on P.E. days children wear to school:

  • white polo shirt/ t-shirt – with school logo or plain or blue school P.E. t-shirt
  • blue sweatshirt/cardigan – with school logo or plain
  • P7 – black sweatshirt/cardigan
  • plain black tracksuit bottoms/ joggers
  • black trainers
  • girls who are wearing a skirt over their leggings can remove their skirt on P.E. days
  • we would recommend that children don’t wear their shirt and tie on their P.E. days

In order to continue with our inclusive ethos and promoting our school identity we would request that children don’t wear branded clothing. We also have nearly new school polo shirts and sweatshirts that can be purchased for a small donation.

On non P.E. days children should wear their normal school uniform (this does not include tracksuit bottoms, leggings – unless with a skirt or jeans).

Term 4 P.E. Days

  • Primary 1 – Mon/Wed
  • Primary 2/1 – Mon/Friday
  • Primary 3/2 – Wed/Fri
  • Primary 4/3 – Mon/ Tues
  • Primary 4 – Mon/Tues
  • Primary 5 – Tues/Wed
  • Primary 6 – Mon/Wed
  • Primary 7 – Mon/Thurs

Thank you for your support with this.

Head Teacher Update

Dear Parent/Carer,

I am writing to update you on the progress of recruiting a Head Teacher for PUSCPS. I am delighted to inform you that Mrs Joanne Kerr, currently Head Teacher at Seafield Primary, will take up the seconded Head Teacher post on Monday 26th April 2021. Mrs Kerr comes with a wealth of teaching and leadership experience. I am sure you will all make her feel very welcome.

Although I will support the smooth transition of the new management team, my last day as Head Teacher at PUSPCS will be on Friday 23rd April 2021.

I would like to thank you for all of your support, for challenging my thinking, and for your words of encouragement along the way during my time at PUSCPS. You have taught me about the power of community, working in partnership through communication and building relationships, to get it right for our children. We have been through so much together! Snow days to a world pandemic; happiness and laughs to times of great sadness; new staff to retirements. So many significant events on our journey have happened in the last 3 ½ years.

A wise colleague once said to me, your leadership is only as strong as the legacy you leave behind. I hope that what I leave behind at PUSCPS is that our children should always be championed by the adults around them, and that they deserve the best school experience as making memories matters. We all know that l love our school colours and a video, too! 🙂

Our memories are our greatest treasure, and I have loved making memories with you, our staff, but mostly our children. The children of PUSCPS will always hold a special place in my heart.

I wish Team PUSCPS the best of luck in the next part of your journey.

Kind regards,

Miss Burton

Spring Holidays

Dear parent/ carer,
It is hard to believe it is the end of term 3 and our Easter holidays are here. It has been another unsettling time for some, with us starting the year in lockdown but I know we are now all glad to be back at school, finding some kind of normality.
Thank you for your continued support during remote learning and supporting your child with their transition back to school, we really appreciate it.
We recently had some Spring fundraising with our dress down day raising £90, Spring booklets £45.15 and our raffle £300! Thank you to everyone who organised the events and to those who donated – this is a fantastic amount of money for our school funds.
Mrs Barclay joined us this week as Acting Principal Teacher and she has already been a great asset to our team.
We look forward to welcoming our primary children back on 19th April and our nursery children back on 6th April.
I hope you have a lovely Spring break and that we have some good weather!
Kind regards,
Miss Burton

Spring Fundraising

A huge thank you to Mrs Bonnar and Mrs Birrell for organising our Spring Raffle and to all our school staff who donated prizes!

We held a spring dress down which raised £90 for school funds!

Sarah-Jane very kindly made up spring booklets to sell. They raised £45.15!.

Nursery Update for 19th April

You will be aware that from the 19th April, the nursery hours will be changing to accommodate the Early Years Expansion, as directed by the Scottish Government.

We will still have cohorts in operation from 19th April to limit children’s contact with each other and the nursery staff.

Please find information below in regards to our nursery day which follow the updated Scottish Government guidance for schools and our local risk assessment, most of which you will be familiar with but we have updated this to reflect the change in hours.
