Group 8 would like to help a local charity called ‘The West Lothian School Bank’. We are asking for donations of any school uniform, shoes and jackets. Also items such as pencils, pens, school bags and lunch boxes etc. These can be used and in good condition or brand new. Any help would be much appreciated. Drop off point is in the language room where group 8 are based.
Our Literacy Week in November was very successful! We had a visit from Ron Fairweather who was a super storyteller – he had us all very engaged in his funny stories! Some classes also enjoyed some shared reading time with P7 pupils from Murrayfield. Our Leavers group lead some story sack sessions with the early years’ classes – they did a fantastic job of reading to the pupils and keeping them engaged. All the classes made a fantastic effort in the ‘decorate your door’ competition – Class 5 won the primary prize and Group 9 won the secondary prize. Thank you to our head boy and girl for judging!
We’ve had a great time in the playground playing with all our friends in the sun!
The primary pupil council met this morning and were ready and raring to go after the holidays! We all have new job roles to take on:
Callum was our leader
Cameron was in charge of pouring the water
Mark kept the meeting running on time as the time keeper
Kai and Liam kept notes of our ideas from the meeting
Tyler and Harry were in charge of tidying up
Ben and Graeme were our messengers.
We found out what the plan for this term was and we wrote down ideas for how to make some money to buy new playground toys!
Our annual event was a roaring success as once again our pupils did us proud. Videos of the pupil dances will follow shortly but until then here is a sneak preview of what our staff get up to after school as they perform Grease.
We cannot wait for the Christmas Fayre. We are excited and happy because we have made lots of stuff to sell. This includes Candy Canes, Rudolphs, Santa Gift Boxes, Fudge, Coconut Ice and Aromatherapy Creams. Please come to our stall.
We had our first pupil council meeting in the primary this week. We welcomed all our new members and they put on their pupil council ties.
They all decorated their folders and we looked at what makes a good pupil council member.
Our pupil council members have a big job list to take back to their classes – we’re already looking forward to hearing everyone’s good ideas at our next meeting.
